Has anyone ever sent a news release into their local newspaper? I printed the current one off of FOF and I want to send it to my paper, but what do I have to do? Who do I send it to? Does it cost me money?
Any tips would be helpful! Thanks!

I know around here they can run $35+ I havn't heard of much success from them so I've personally never done it but its uptoyou and what you want to spend. Also, if your using one from FOF they can be quite long so you might want to try and cut it down a bit.

I'm sorry Mistie, but I have never sent one. I have seen one when one of our local Directors earned her Mustang. It was published in the business section.

Hmmm...thanks girls! I guess I'll just call the newspaper and ask them. I just thought that maybe one of you ladies had some experience with it.

I heard our local papers ignore them. So I haven't tried. I do intend on trying when I promote to Director though.
Sorry I also can't be of much help!

I've been thinking about doing it too, but I'm not sure what the best and least expensive way to do it would be. I know they have a section in our local paper where you can send your business card in and they just copy that with a bunch of others and make it look like it's on a bulletin board. That might be the way for me to go right now.
I've been kinda bummed lately, that's why I haven't been posting anything. I had all my spas for this month cancel and they aren't reschedulingsmileys/smiley19.gif
May is starting to look good, but I'm having a hard time getting them to book for this month!

May can be tough because of graduations and Mother's Day. People are also starting to think of summer vacations and school getting out for those who are not graduating.
Have you thought about running a Mother's Day sale?
I am going to have mine the last week in April, so I have plenty of time to ship. I offer husbands the option of me putting the product in baskets, etc. The husbandslike that and their wives are happy they are getting something they really like.
Just a thought!

Yeah, I've been thinking about that mother's day sale too. Just need to get motivated again. All those cancellations kinda took the wind out of my sail, so I have to just jump back in again. I try to keep a positive attitude, but sometimes it's really hard!smileys/smiley5.gif
Things will get better though, I still have my heart set on going to celebration, and that will definately help
