Hi ladies, my name is Megan and I’m a new consultant with BeautiControl. A few weeks ago I saw a post on here about someone that was doing spas for an apartment complex and I loved the idea especially since I’m just starting and need to get my name out there. I live in an apartment complex and I made up some flyers over the weekend and I was going to drop them off at a couple of the buildings and host my own party in the community room in a few weeks. Well last night I got home and it seems that there’s someone with the Body Shop at home and PartiLite that are going to be having their party in the community room this weekend.smileys/smiley19.gif And I feel like totally I totally let myself down because now when I pass out my flyers I think people might get confused or those girls might think that I took their idea. I’m just not sure what to do if I should try another complex or what? My mom manages this one and I can’t believe she didn’t say anything to me about it so I’m really irritated and not sure what to do? I’m trying to get people to book parties but I’m having trouble with people booking a date and getting people wanting to have a party. When I joined I was told that there were not a lot of consultants in my area and it seems that there are. Many of my friends and family already have a consultant or are going to up coming parties or have booked parties with the other consultants so I’m just not really sure what to do? Please help! Thanks for letting me vent by the way, I’m just upset about it.

Having a bunch of your consultants in your area should not make a difference! My Director lives in a neighborhood with 2 other Directors and consultants. Your circle of influence is always going to be different than theirs. I would not consider it a roadblock to your success!

I had a party in St. Louis on April 1st (there are a lot of consultants there!) and the women had never been to one of our parties. They have heard of BC because of the advertising on Director's cars.

As far as your apartment complex is concerned, wait a few weeks and give it a try! Maybe you could just stop by to see how crowded these other parties are.

Did you sign up afteryour own spa party? When I signed up all the original bookings that my upline got that night went right to me. Also the friend who introduced us became my client. I guess I would talk to your family and friends about why they are not supporting your new business.

Hi Megan and welcome to Wahm.

Only 50% of my friends supported me with my business. You are not alone. They know you will still be their friend/relative. I have better luck with strangers.

Join a club where you can build relationship with others (Gym, networking groups etc) Tell people to come to your place and let you practice on them. This way, theycan try the products and see what the Spas is all about. If they like something, give it to them at a Discount for hosting a Spa for you. People love discounts!

Go to this ladies parties and learn from them. I frequent other direct sales parties to learn and mingle. You can try your complexlater like Vicki said.

Good luck and hang in there,

Megan (Thats my daughters name too)

I have had great success with Apartment complex Spas. First off, I would work on some other than yours until you get it down really well.

I have the Apartment complex host it and all I do is give them a sign up sheet with the time slots and hoe many are allowed at each session. Then I give them a flyer to distribute to each person.

I am going to change it in the future and have the people RSVP to me, instead of the leasing agent, that way I get a personal conversation with the person before the Spa.

The Apartment usually will provide food( fruit tray, cheese, chips) and drinks( wine, soda, bottled water) .

I go in and hold my Spas, just like a regular Spa at someones home, except it is in the Clubhouse. My Hostess neck wrap goes to the person who booked me.

Look for Luxury Apartment buildings, because they will usually be the first to jump on board. It is great business for them as well. How many places can say we offer a complimentary Spa to our Residents twice a year or ect.

I started these with a cold call, and I was told to contact the owner of a Management Property. I called her and she ownes 4 Luxury Apartment complexes and several housing divisions. I have done one complex last month and I am booked for another at the end of this month. I made some sales, but I got 2 new recruits. I only held 6 sessions at that time, not all were full. Many people wanted to come but were at work or leaving town. It was during St. Pats weekend.

So, I haev changed the times and adjusted them and I have several full sessions at the next complex. I hold a5:00-6:30 and a 7:00-8:30pm. onFriday and during the week a 7:00-8:30.

Good luck,

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Megan,
Don't let the fact that there are a lot of consultants around you get you down! A lot of people still don't know about BC! Its just one of those things where you don't realize how many people are in it until you get in yourself! I was surprised when I was recruited too.

Megan,

Also, you can travel to areas near your town and get business. My Director has 3 other Directors in her subdivision. There are many people who have never heard of BeautiControl and I have found gettingin touch with family/friends in other towns and states has been helpful.

Good luck,

Could you please email me a letter or flyer that you used when you contacted the management or tell me what you said to them. This sounds like a great idea. Thanks

Does your apartment complex have a monthly newsletter? the one we just moved to has a community newsletter, and they allow FREE CLASSIFIED ADS! for residents, so last month I saw there was a MK consultant but that didn't phase me, I posted my free ad anyway! I ran it by my director to make sure it was legal, and she thought it was an excellent idea! Be sure to not use the word "beauticontrol" and it's legal. if you want a copy of the verbiage I used, feel free to PM me!!

on another note, I wouldn't let the partylite and Body Shop consultants get in your way, people like variety and not all people like the same products! I mean, sure I sell BC but was invited to an Arbonne party last week, I went, and I still found a great product to try out that BC doesn't sell....now if you found out there was 5 BC consultant's in your building...just target somewhere else!

Hang in there Meghan! smileys/smiley32.gif My area too is saturated but I have just went beyond the "city limits" and am focusing on new towns and new faces. My newest was today, I booked a Spa table at an all day all night scrapbooking crop, they are doing it as a fund raiser and I am donating my Spa service (probably hand massage and neckwrap) to the ladies who buy the "Pink Package" After my treatment they are shuttled to a desert cafe, so the whole thing is really neat. I am always looking for unusual "places" to find prospects!

Do not give up and do not stress about friends and family not supporting you. My closest friends said they "don't do home parties" so I look forward to the day I send them a post card from Hawaii and say "I do DO home parties.....wish you were here!" smileys/smiley7.gif

Best of luck!
