View Full Version : Spa Escape at Work workbook

I don't know if this is still available to purchase, but if it is I suggest you get one!

If they are gone, I do have a copy of the book. It has a CD so I can upload the files and send them to you. It has letters, scripts and spa outlines for you to use.

I didn't have this resource available to me when I did my first work spa party. Now that I have really looked thru the workbook, I am going to give it another try!

I've thought about buying that but I'm just not sure whether or not its worth the $20 dollars. I have had to keep myself from ordoring so much as now I'm at the point were I've literally put thousands of dollars into the company and have sold less than $200! Its starting to get difficult, especially if I don't start selling soon!

I thought about getting that too, but like Rose I'm not sure if it would be worth the money. I have put quite a bit of money (that we don't have) into this company and trying to get going. My husband would probably ring my neck if I was to get something that I didn't really need, or that wouldn't help. $20 may not seem like a lot of money to some people, but when you are living on broke, it is quite a bit of $$!

Icompletly agree. I have got to earn a lot of money to at least pay off what I've put in. I'm still giving this company 6 months. If its not off the ground by then I'm probobly going to quit. I think 6 months is a decent amount of time to work and get my name out there. I'm probobly not going to buy any more retail because I'm not selling any. We'll see though.

Mistie and Rose,

I understand where you are coming from on ordering. That is why I offered to upload and send the information. Maybe that wasn't quite clear in my post.

It does take to build asuccessful business. Keep getting your name out there and promoting your parties. Try different things to find out what works best for you.

Sorry Vicki, I misunderstood! I thought you were only offering if it wasn't for sale anymore!

I am not going to quit this business. I know it is going to take time, money and energy to get it off the ground and to keep it running. I will be placing orders for myself anyway, so if along the way I get some spas and consultations, great! smileys/smiley1.gif I have 5 kids (3 youngest are 2 and 10 month old twins) and it is hard to try to promote myself, but I chug away at it a little at a time.

04-11-2006, 12:51 PM
You're right Mistie, it did come out like that. Sorry! I always share, no matter what. The book does have more information than the CD, so that is why I suggested that.

Believe me, I understand the challenges involved! I moved to a city that is not well acquainted with BC. There are challenges involved with that.

It's good you recognize that it does take time and energy to build a business! Never give up! Look at me, it took me a long time to recruit and now things are falling into place.

Your dreams are worth chasing! Dream big because the sky's the limit!

I totally agree, Vicki! It definitely takes a lot of patience to build a successful business. I have been working at this solid for a year now and things are really starting to pick up. I'm still now where I want to be (2+2+2 consistently) but I know what this business can do for my life and the lives of those around me, so I will keep pressing on!

I read somewhere (I think it was Ilene Meckley?) who is a direct sales phenom, that it takes, on average, seven contacts or "touches" for a person to feel like they know and trust you. So an initial "no" most often just means "not right now". This business is all about trust--your clients have to trust you, and you have to trust in your company and it's leaders, trust in your products, and trust in yourself! So I guess what I'm saying is keep going! You are all intelligent women with great ideas and business sense. Just keep putting that to use like you have been and I know it will work for you!

Best wishes!

In one of my conference call with the my Regional Manager, I used the Phrase "I'm Putting the word out". She told me that my job wasn't to put the word out, but to hold Spas. She said, "you ask questions and find out ifpeople are interested". If they are not, you move on. Don't waste your time with leads you don't have.

Dropping fliers and giving away product guides do not work for me. What works for me is to have people trying the products and relaxation session. So, my main focus now is to get them excited about trying therelaxationand my products.Even if it is on a one on one basis.

I invited two ladies to my house during Spring Break. At the beginning, they were not interested in buying anything. Their body language and comments gave me that impression. Every time I told them about a product, they will tell me that they already have it or compared it to a product they had or had tried in the past etc. I felt a bit defeated but I didn't show my emotions. I thought "oh well, I'm just going to have a good time and pamper myself while I'm pampering them". I applied the lip apeel on myself and made them laugh. I told them to lay down on the floor to relax because that was the only reason I invited them; "To show them why I was so passionate about this business". I told them that it was all about giving others peace of mind and empower them to take careof themselves. Because women have to be reminded and taught how to take care and take time for themselves. This business is a friendship business. You give the gift of relaxation and your friends help youby purchasing the products they like and book Spas for their friendsetc.

Both ladies loved the relaxation session, booked Spas and one bought $45 in products. They both had their Spas two weeks ago and I recruited both of them and 4 of their friends (a total of 6) and qualified 5.

I realize that I was putting too much emphasis in spreading the word but not going the extra mile to book and hold Spas. Now, I look atpeoplein their eyes and ask them when was the last time someone did something nice to them for free. How do you think your friend will feel after they experiencea relaxation and pampering session?

Holding Spa Escapes at people's work place are a great way to get bookings. If people are impressed with the relaxation session, they will book and hold a Spa. If they are not interested, we move on and find people that will.

Like Vicki said, it takes a lot to build a business. We have a lot to learn and this is a learning experience. We all make mistakes and the important thing is to learn from them and find what works for us.

I met lots of Directors who told me that they didn't do much on their first couple of years in the business. It is all about building relationships with your clients and down-line, follow up for future re-orders and referrals.

This board is a great support group and I'm proud of all of you for trying to build your business. It's rewarding and empowering. It just takes time, persistence, consistencyand patience.

I wish you all the best in yourjourney,

I seriously am going to put your ideas to good use! It sounds like such a simple enough thing to do, makes me wonder why I wasn't doing that to begin with! I just hope that I can actually do it (that I don't forget, or else get to scared to do it).

I must ask Itzy, what Achiever were you in? What is your name again? I want to go look you up!

Itzy
04-11-2006, 08:02 PM
Mistie,I was on March's Achiever page 24as DIQ.The first time I tried DIQ was back in November and my picture showed upin December's Achiever.

Last year when I went to Celebration, I signed my first letter of interest to start DIQ in November and walked the stage to dropit in the collection bags. It was exciting!I heard thatBC do this every year. I was pumped and excitedabout the promotion. So, I recruited 8 consultants in Augustand my picture made it for the first time in September's Achiever.

It is exciting to seemy picture there. It helps me believe that anyone can Achieve andbe recognized by the company. Even if it is just my picture on the magazine.

The people in the Achiever are people just like you and me. They are working their business (2+2+2 consistently) like Shawn mentioned. I'm still working on my 2+2+2 but it is a matter of time! I Believe that if I trustyourself and whatI have to offer, the rest will fallin place in time.

Blessings Always,

Itzela

Itzy. I like your comment about the people in the Achiever being just like us. Each month when I get mine, and I'm taking the time out to read it, I look at each picture and say to myself, "If she can do it, I can do it!" That might seem like a lot to some of you, but I have definitely built my confidence over time doing that.

Shawn, I do the same "If she can do it, I can do it".

I'm like many of you. I'm addicted tothe Achiever. At the end of each month, I can't wait to get my new copy on the mail.

Now, I can't wait to get the Empowering Women Magazine. That is going to be a success!

I used to think that but then I meet the women and they are so happy and fun and always smiling. I've got some things that have happened and I'm not the fun care free girl I used to be. I often think I don't have "the look" to do this. Although I will stay in it for my benefit its not goign so well on parties. I have to wonder if maybe I'm not cut out for it. I do have a show at a teachers lounge tomorrow. I'm so scared. I really hope it works out for both me and my friend. I'm super nervouse.

04-12-2006, 08:59 AM
My business gives me inner peace and happiness! That is where my smile comes from. It is easier to have a good positive mental attitude when that is the case. Things are not always perfect, but I keep working to change what isn't working.

There isn'ta set "look" in BeautiControl. A lot of people in the Achiever take advantage of professional pictures that are offered at Celebration. Mine is a picture that my husband took. I am not dressed to the nines or wearinglots of makeup. It is just me as you would normally find me out and about. Wearing my favorite color: purple!

I understand nerves! Even though I am a seasoned consultant, I still occasionally get the case of the nerves. I always listen to music in the car that calms me. Enya is one of my favorites or I Believe I Can Fly. That song is filled with so much emotion for me; because I do see it and I can be it!

I wish you good luck in your teacher's appreciation!

Itzy

Like Vicki said there isn't any set "look" in BeautiControl. I know so many consultants that are doing great promoting and working there business and you could never guess thatthere are in the beauty industry.

Celebration is the best place to see people of all sizes, ages, shapes and looks. Some are very beautiful consultants while other not to blessed as far as looks in concerned. However, you can see that they are advancing in their career level and are doing very well.

The important things areto believe in yourself, your company and what you have to offer to others. The gift of pampering and relaxation as well as the opportunity to build a successful business.

Blessings always,

I am fairly new here and have not yet turned a profit with my business,
so I can empathize with some of the other post-ers here.

However, I love Itzy's looonnng post (lol!) and some of the other inspiring things mentioned here.

I am no where near ready to give this up and I am looking forward to
going to Celebration because my goal IS to be a DIQ this time next year!

Thanks for all of the good ideas. I am constantly learning on this board!

((((((RoseT))))))

to my understanding - every single person/consultant has experienced this emotion. Instead of focusing on how scared you are, or what you might do wrong, or how much you don't know.....

Let me encourage you to think about this....

You care about these women

You have a great treatment line to share with them that's going to help them pamper and relax

If you make a mistake, 90% of what you don't do perfectly will go unnoticed

The *fun* can be greater than the fear if you just let it and step forward. It's hard to take the first step but it's the beginning of a wonderful and rewarding journey. Each step gets easier, I promise.

I hope you'll come back and share your experience....what you learned, what you want to build upon/improve, what you'll do next time.....I'd personally like to cheer you and offer tips on how to make it better and better each time.

Blessings,

Dora

Hi,
I am very new to this business and was wondering what the Spa at work Workbook was?

I thought this was a very interesting thread.
Thanks

Samantha!

Welcome to BeautiControl and this board! Spa at work is a workbook that BeautiControl put together for us to offer spa express in offices. They can be done during lunch hours, etc. It has letters for contacting businesses, etc.

If you would like a copy of this workbook, PM me your email address and I will send it to you.

Samantha-

It is easy to PM! Just click on the button at the bottom of your screen
that says pm. It will take you to a screen in which you can send a
private message to anyone on this board. Cool, huh?

Vicki,

I would also be interested in that workbook. I posted another entry
about my area being kind of saturated. However, I don't think the
office spas are a market that has been completely covered.

You can send it to me at Mizdayspa@aol.com

Thanks!
