View Full Version : Lots of questions about VOTIVES

Do you ALWAYS sell votives in a glass votive holder?
For some reason, this hadn't occurred to me *slaps self upside head*smileys/smiley36.gif
If I package three votives, is one holder sufficient, or should I place each votive in a holder, and THEN package it?
Do you package the SAME votives in a package, or mix them up? (I know
that I should package each votive in its own plastic bag to prevent
cross scenting.) Example: 3 French Lavender in a package,or 1 SO&CP
plus 1 French Lavender plus 1 Chili Vanilli? In all my reading, I
haven't run across anything saying which is a better way to do it, or
whether I should try both ways.
I've been taking notes as I read the various groups and boards, and so far, this seems to be typical pricing:
1 votive 3.00
2 votives 5.00
3 votives 7.00
4 votives 9.00
5 votives 11.00
6 votives 13.00
Have you found any particular amounts of votives in a package to be a
better seller than others? Or is it better to try to do lots of
different number combos? Do these look like good prices to follow?
I'm still very new, and thank you for all your help on this board! smileys/smiley1.gif

Hi Becky I generally sale my votives in sets of 4. So 4/$12.00 and I make them buy the same scent, unless I am at a show they can mix and match from my inventory. I do give 1 holder per 4 votives. That way they know what kind of holder to buy and use. I also have other votive holders on hand for purchase as well. :)

I'm selling my votives for $2.95 each or 4 for $10 - for orders, I have a minimum order of 4. I'm not selling them with votive holders, but I've heard a lot of people say to do that. Does anyone know of a good place to get discount votive holders? I'm also new - I've been a member for a couple months, but I'm very excited about it!

Jen, are you in any of the Yahoo groups for Mia Bella people? If you
are, I've seen some companies posted in the groups' Files section that
might help you get started.
I can't think of any of the companies offhand, but I know there are
several places to purchase cases of the glass votive holders for a
reasonable price.
Frances, thank you for your suggestions.
These are both very helpful--thank you! smileys/smiley1.gif

Becky -
I'm in one new Yahoo group that my sister started, but I don't know of any others - does anyone else? My sister had tried to join one group and was told she wasn't allowed to join because she wasn't a member of that person's team!

Jen, I get my votive holders from the dollar store. They are actually packaged as whiskey glasses; but theylook just like votive holders and the votives fit perfectly. They sell them 4 for $1.00. It's a great deal and not a big expense if you are just giving them away with the votives. So, if you have a local 99 cent or dollar store, you should check there. I know quite a few distributors who use these for their votive holders.

Whiskey glasses? That's a good idea--I never would have thought of that.
We don't have a Dollar Store in our town any more, but I'll definitely check the next time I go "to town".
If I'm selling a single votive for three dollars, the least I could do is include a twenty five cent votive holder, right? smileys/smiley2.gif
