I am new to this website. I was recently let go from my job, basically because I am 5 months pregnant and my doctor put me on leave. I had major complications with my first pregnancy and the doctor doesn't want to take chances with this one! Well, now I have no source of income. My husband works, and it pays the bills but barely! I am just looking for some steady income I can get each month. I have applied to a few of the phone jobs listed on this site, but no luck! It's getting really close to Christmas, and I just want to help my husband out! Any advice will be considered except for the survey sites. I've never done good with them!

Thank you!

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through all of that! I do not have any ideas for immidiate money, but I have noticed there are alot of very well informed Moms in this forum that probably have great advice!

My only suggestion for quick money is maybe Ebay selling...I have used it in the past to make some quick money until I found something more permanent. It's Christmas time so Ebay should be booming right now. I was going to Claires and buying the 10 for $5 dollar items and re-selling them on Ebay and I brought in $2000 during Christmas time. The shipping was a pain in the rear end but you might do well and it would be worth it.

Just watch the listing fees! They rack up quick!

Good Luck, it's nice to meet you!

Christine :)

Well there are definitely many great resources here to help you get back into the swing of things, but I would like to point out something that you should absolutely do right away! Being let go due to pregnancy (explicitly or implied) violates the Civil Rights Act of 1964, you need to call the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) at 1-800-669-EEOC. You need to make sure to file the complain ASAP because time limits do apply, my wife was denied a case because she waited too long. You may get some financial compensation for being wrongfully terminated!

try 1-800 flowers Employment Opportunities at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM (http://ww11.1800flowers.com/template.do?id=template8&page=9000) or Higher One Current Openings (http://www.higherone.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=55)

those two are doing seasonal so you may get hired quickly. For the ones you've applied to be patient it can take some to get a response. Keep applying for something long term, I post leads here and on my blog all the time. So do many others. Sorry about your job, but congrats on the baby. PM me if I can help more.

I'm sorry to hear about the complications with your pregnancy and I hope everything goes really well for you.

As others have said, you picked a great place to start. New positions are listed in this section of the forum every day. I'd recommend taking a look around and applying for as many things as you can.

Good luck. :)

Hi and Welcome!
You have picked the right place to start! I think the ebay advise is great. There are new jobs leads posted on this forum everyday. May be you can also sign up for mturk.com and get started. They have small, quick tasks that you can do and over time they add up.
Goodluck!
Hope you find something that works well for you.
