Since I'm just starting out, I thought it might be fun to do a live
vendor open house. I know some reps in the area already, but
thought I'd check here as well.

Hi Christy -

Where are you located and/or looking to do the vendor fair? I am in Whitinsville which is just south of Worcester and might be interested.

I'm in Wilmington, which is on the border between the North Shore and
North Suburbs. MetroWest isn't super close, but I could certainly
head out there for a day! =}

Here's the message I sent to another rep with my thoughts... she's also MetroWest:

I'm just in the early stages of thinking about this... but I thought
I'd try to gather a number of local reps. We could pitch in to
rent a space, all commit to advertising (maybe we could have a
contest), and have a little home party fair. We could sell items
there or take orders, and I thought we could raffle off "hostess"
rights for each company represented. Each winner would win
whatever hostess prize is appropriate for that company.
Individual reps might have little give-aways or have special incentives
for signing up to host (hostess gets their prize at their party).

As reps sign on, they would join a planning group to approve or deny
other reps so no one felt like they were competing and so we can make
sure we're getting a lot of "buzz".

What do you guys think? I would like to start a group elsewhere
to plan/discuss so we can get a core set of reps. It's a bit far
in the future, but I was thinking September might be good timing.
It's early enough before the holidays for people to book holiday shows,
but not so late that people are finished with their shopping.

We could do Waltham or something like that, as well...

I'm from E Bridgewater. Waltham is definitely doable. Keep me posted - when where etc.

Ok, I've started a listserv to discuss the fair. I have PM'ed everyone who has posted here.

If anyone else is interested, please PM me and I'll send you more info.
