As you know I had an opportunity to set up a table at Fashion Bug yesterday during their Spring Fashion Show. I was so scared and nervous that I couldn't even eat my lunch before I went.
I took my 8 year old daughter with me to "help". I had a basket of the products you get when you sign up (they were empty bottles filled with tissue paper), Beauti Bistro set, TDS Lavender set, a few Margarita products, the neckwrap, a drawing for a free facial valued at $150. I also had the SOH, ER lotion, Green Tea masque for demo.
I had a really good time, however I was hoping to get more leads than I did. Not many people seemed too interested in the products, or even wanting to try to SOH. However, those that DID try it, loved it!
I didn't get any bookings, but a few ladies took my card and said they'll think about it and get in touch with me. One woman, for the drawing, said she would be interested in having a spa. Another lady placed an order (it was only for a lip balm, but still better than nothing!).
The employees from Fashion Bug really liked the products so I'm hoping that I'll get some orders from them.
They must have liked me and what I did because they did invite me to come back for the rest of their fashion shows (they do 4 or 5 a year)! I'm really excited about that!
The thing that really bummed me out though is that the store was really crazy for about 1/2 hour before the show. The mothers were running around getting their kids ready and didn't give me much thought. When the show was over they were busy buying the clothes and then they left. Once the show was over, there wasn't really much traffic. However in the rest of the mall there was a craft sale and a home based business expo going on and I missed out on all of the people out there, since most of them didn't really have a reason to go into Fashion Bug.
On a freaky note, it was a slow period, I'm sitting at the table and my daughter is "shopping" for clothes and in walks this freaky guy. He just stands at the table looking at all of my things...so I talk to him about our mens care products. He takes my business card with the bath mineral samples and then just keeps talking about the weirdest things (asking for money and a phone, how he needs a ride back home (he walked 7 miles to the mall, just because), he showed me a scar that goes all the way across his head and started in on the story of how he got it, and much more. I kept talking about how my HUSBAND really liked the bath minerals for a foot soak and how he uses such-and-such in our mens care products, etc). After about 15 minutes one of the girls that works at the store came up to the table and starts talking to me to try to get this creep away from me, and he wont leave! SO then I have her come over to my bowl and water pitcher and I do the SOH on her and start doing my "talk" about our products. Eventually the guy left, but, he still had my card.
I know that this was mentioned before, but I want to bring it up again. WHen you guys order your cards, DO NOT put your address on them! I was up almost all night worried that this guy was going to break into my house and get me. I have 1,000 cards yet with my address on them and hopefully the people that take them will not be out to get me. (perhaps I'm a little paranoid, but that guy was really strange!)
All in all I think it went well, and I do have potential spas and orders. I wish I had more, but I have more than I did Friday! smileys/smiley1.gif

That is great news Mistie! Hopefully the next time they have a fashion show, there will not be as much going on inside the mall!
I hope you got the information from the ones who took your business card for you to follow up. People say they will call, but rarely do!

It was hard to try to get everyones information, but I tried! I'm thinking (hoping, maybe) that since there was a lot going on inside the mall that it took away some business from the show. Maybe I'll have better luck next time!

Good Job Mistie! You did your best!
I just order new cards with Vista-Print and I didn't include my address!
When I order my cards with Town and Country at Celebration last year, I told the lady not to put my address on itbut, they still did. This time, I made sure not to include it for the same reason (You don't know who can get hold of it)
I was at a Home show last month handing my flier when a guy ask me for my card. I didn't feel goodaboutgiving him my infoso, I told him that I ran out. I always keep my business cards on my wallet and my prospect's cards in the business card holder. When I meet someone and I ask them for their info but they reply back with "Do you have a card?", I open my card holder (that has the prospect cards) and tell them that I ran out but they can give me their number. This way I have their information to follow up.
Blessings always,
