I was curious to find out who is actively doing work spas on this board.
I would LOVE to start doing them and try to book one very day! I love the info and script on doing them, but I was wondering if when you call, people are still kind of skeptical that all you are trying to do is get in to sell products...
Please tell me your experiences on this subject.
Thanks in advance!

Why isn't anyone responding to my post? I would have thought SOMEONE had done these...
I was at church yesterday and I thought (and I know this is bad in church), but if I could approach the Pastor's wife who is over the ladies meetings there and tell her that if I can de-stress the ladies in the congregation at their next meeting or maybe on a Saturday...then any products I sell I can give them a percentage...
Didn't know what she could call this in her bulletin though.... I need a kind of catchy name or phrase for this and to NOT call it a fundraiser. Something about ladies, come to get pampered...we appreciate all of you in this church! And then maybe schedule groups of 6 every hour or so during the day or something like that...

I have only done one of these spa parties. It wasa Christmas Luncheon for employees of an Ad agency and a Bank. It went ok, but I haven't done another one since. Did get some orders, but none of the parties from that day held.
So I went back to what works for me.
I am a part of the SCRIP program for my daughter's school where I give them a % of my sales back to the school. It is great because a lot of Mom's are interested in parties and the product. They are getting pampered and the school gets money from their purchases.
If your church has a women's group or ladies auxilliary, ask them. We have one that hosted a spa retreat night for all home businesses that are associated with the church and school. I was the only one to show up that night!

I am not doing spa-at-work, yet, but my director is having great success with it. She presents it as a stress reducer for employees. During the event, she does hand treatment, eye pads, lips, and relaxation. She usually offers a drawing so she can follow up later.
I hope that helps a little.

Andrea,
I usually do 2-3 Workplace SPas a month. Sorry I did not respond sooner, but I am swamped with work.
I have not had much luck with Doctors and Dentists, but many do, I haev been doing Human Resource Spas, and Teacher Appreciations as well as Staff Appreciations for places like Big Brothers Big sisters, Girl Scout Leader ect.
Some times you have to give up Sales, in order to get bookings and clients. I always leave it up to the person in charge. 99% of the time, people want to purchase our products.
The other thing is Health Fairs- Most corporations have them, and Colleges and Hospitals. They are generally free.
Good Luck, Gotta Go, back to work!

Vicki, you should give it another shot. Somedays you might not have a good party, and then sometimes you might. Maybe next time you have loads of interest!

Andrea, I think I sent you an email on this..at least I hope I did LOL..sometimes I get crazy! I haven't done one yet though. My first one is going to be on Thursday, so we'll see what happens. I will let you know how it goes. I think Vicki has the right idea..she tried it, and since it didn't work well for her, she went back to what does work! I think in this business, that's a great attitude to have!

Well now I didn't sayI would never try it again. It just wasn't successful the first go round. Now that I finally have a new consultant signing up in W. Peoria, I will be able to focus on other things again.
It feels so good to have a partner to work with on all the things I haven't gotten around to doing yet!

That's great Vicki! I'm still in search of that consultant that really wants to work as a team to help build our businesses together. Heaven knows this is all about timing. I'm glad you'll be able to focus on different things now that you have added another partner! Keep us posted!

You're making sense, Vicki! I sure hope you get to feeling better soon. My girls were both sick with it a couple of weeks ago..had to take the baby to the ER to get an IV. NOt fun...Hannah, our 7-year-old, did a little better but she missed a few days of school because of it. Get lots of rest!

Andrea,
the director of the women's ministries at my church wants me to have it put on the church calendar even for those who are not active in the womens ministry. She wants them to call it something like SPA DAY WITH SHELLEY. For you ,just change the name or think of something catchy to get attention.I am also working on employee appreciation and teacher spas.Someone contacted me about doing something for the local F.B.I. offices here.I haven't followed up on it yet, because I had a few no's and let them discourage me.I am trying to get myself going again.Good luck.I do have a flier that I use for those. There is also an informational sheet about how to do those spas using just 5 products and maybe a few more.If I can help let me know..

See my new post about the spa escape at work workbook. I am willing to upload and send the file to anyone who needs it! If still available, it is a great resource for doing spas at work.
