Why do the DS companies always offer trips to the Carribean and Cancun? Occassionally you see Hawaii or Disney World, but there are so many other places to visit, especially in the USA. I'd love to see a trip to the Super Bowl or World Series with great tickets, Luxerious hotel and then you could see other sites. Or how about an all expense paid trip to New York to see a ballet or Broadway play? Or an all expense trip to San Francisco during the holidays to see the Nutcracker Ballet or Tour the Napa Valley Wine Country or the beaches in Boca Raton, FL, or Santa Barbara with a cruise to Catalina Island. An Alaskan Cruise, an all expense trip paid to Las Vegas with a side trip to the Grand Canyon and tour of Hoover Dam? How about Nashville or Hollywood, Niagra Falls, Washington DC, The White House (although not interested during this term (lol!) New Orleans, Vermont in the Fall, A ski trip to Aspen (if you don't ski I am sure there are other things to do) ? There are so many places to go right here in the USA, why do the companies take their money else where? Better yet, just give us the money and we will make our own incentive trip! (lol!)
I know that we have conferences all over, but that's conference where we pay our own way and not a vacation! Is it just me? I would rather see the USA! I have yet to see an incentive trip in the companies I've been with that REALLY gets me excited enough to go for it!

Just an idea but may be its too expensive for some people to go to those places and it would be more appealing/motivator, whereas u can drive anywhere in the states. I am from Jamaica and everybody I speak to always comment oh, I wish I could go there. Most of the places you have mentioned I have been there so it is wonderful to get out of the states. For example, Cookie Lee consultants are going on a cruise to Europe, now thats a trip I would want to go on...Spain, Rome, etc.

My company is offering a trip to the top 10 distributors to a gorgeous hotel in South Carolina!
Hilton Head Island
Hilton Head Resorts: Hilton Oceanfront Resort Island South Carolina SC luxury beachfront hotels spas conferences centers suites golf course romantic family group vacations getaways packages weddings meetings planning (http://www.hiltonoceanfrontresort.com)
I do like the idea that it is in the US and gives money back to the states as well as lets distributors see all the beauty that the USA DOES offer!
hey any trip is good though huh?

I think it just depends on the company and price point.
We actually went to San Fransico this year as part of our earned incentive trip than on to Hawaii. We have done an Alaskan Cruise too. Recently there was a Boston trip in September. Our next is Disney World in Orlando.
Hopefully the company you are with will start doing more in the US. Try suggesting it and get others who feel as you do to also suggest US locations.
Best wishes for great success!

I think part of it is cost and part of it is that most people are good with a relaxing type holiday, whereas a lot would not be interested in the Superbowl or more "specialized" trips.

Now that's what I am talking about! This sounds wonderful, I've never been to South Carolina and would love to go there, especially for free!
I know, not everyone likes sports but there are other things to do in our cities. I just like the idea of keeping our money here and stimulating our own ecconomy, especially now in this day and age.

Those all sound great to me! Good for your company for keeping the money here in the USA!

Ours is London with a train ride into Scotland this year.
The states, problem is it demotivates people who live there, according to our Pres.
I've been to Alaska (via cruise), Hawaii (cruise), Rome, Bahamas and Cabos.

I don't know, it wouldn't demotivate me at all! I would love to go to some of these US places mentioned for free! For me it's more than the trip, it is being helpful to our country by stimulating our hospitality and travel industry.

We went to California this year for a wine tour.
In 2011 - An Alaska 7-day cruise.
I have seen over 30+ countries on my own...so it is nice to see parts of the USA or do fun excursions I may not do otherwise.
We do go out of country almost every other year......but it just so happens we are doing back-to-back state trips...although Alaska IS amazing. I was on that cruise 15 years ago.

I imagine that it also has to do with availability. Many of the companies are taking thousands of reps at one time. I am sure there are some places here in the US that can handle that but they may not have that many rooms available all at the same time.
There are a few places here in the US that I would like to go but not many. I have already seen quite a bit. I think tropical locations offer a relaxing type atmosphere most of the year as well which I am sure helps with the prices. Now, Miami or some place like that would be great as long as I didn't get shot. (I might be watching too much CSI Miami :)
Myrtle Beach is kind of nice as well but again, I don't think they would have the accomodations.
I definitely see your point. Keeping it here in America. Hey, Hawaii is America. I am down with that for sure! Even Alaska as long as it is in the summer!
Good topic!

AHA offered an Alaskan cruise 3 years ago - I earned it - but could not go cuz I was too preggo - took the buy-out $$ and went to Nashville....lol - our next trip was Hawaii - did not earn that one. Just earned this year's trip for Cancun - excited - REALLY hoping the navy lets my hubby go!
I would LOVE if AHA did a Disney trip - they did years ago so I am hoping it is coming soon - and If they offer Alaska again - I AM SOO WINNING THAT ONE! :)

This year's trip was an Alaskan Cruise and next year's trip is to Puerto Vallarta. Varriety is good both in and out of the country. I know I'm more likely to book a trip here in the states and take my family on my own dime than fly myself to a distant tropical vacation so it's nice to be able to earn those "extras" too.
