I sometimes struggle with this! So, I'm also encouraging myself today with this one!! :)
I have learned that it IS okay to ask God for success in accomplishing a goal as long as the motive is right.
When your success helps people and honors God, praying for success does not become a selfish act. It is the means to good testimony.

I am of the belief that we are all meant to have every thing we desire and that it is our right and duty to experience as much success as we care to handle. So I don't believe it is selfish at all to "pray" for success. I'm not all that religious in the traditional sense but I will say this...You would be better served be "expecting" success - that is the ultimate show of faith if you ask me. I was taught to pray as though there is no need because we already have everything we need and want. Pray from the end and go backwards. Does that make sense?
