Hi there!!

I have been a VA for about 3 years. I have done MANY jobs from outlets such as Odesk. These are certainly a help but I am hoping to venture out. I am aware there will always be competition but services required for $1.00 an hour are a bit ridiculous.

Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am looking to start somewhere else or completely venture out on my own. Times are tough for us all and I am determined to make it no matter what!!!

The best to you all!

Yes that is quite ridiculous. Good luck and maybe someone else can help you here who knows more about the field than I do.

Amy,
I would set up your own blog/site and offer your services. If you specialize in something, that would be great to focus on. I cannot even fathom $1 an hour, that is INSANE:eek: Get out there and start networking on Twitter/Facebook and other social networking/media sites. What is your favorite VA task that you do? You can join VA forums and network with other VA's to possibly get work.

You have enough experience it seems that you need to be getting paid what you're worth my dear! Go for it!

That crazy pay was why I stopped looking for work on sites like odesk. I'm finding it harder to find work on my own but I ended up with way better paying part time work.

The pay is really very low because of the competition among the contractors. They are also outsourcing the vacancies for other nationalities to save such great amount of money.
