Just got me thinking, why YOUR company. I know there is a combo of reasons. But for me, it was the products. I wasn't looking to make money. I was skeptical, and didn't think I'd make anything after buying toys. For me, having fun got me more bookings and a team.


Did you pick it for the company? Like Mary Kay, most female millionaires represented.


Or Taste of Home, company name and reputation behind it.


Did someone say "I make $100+ a night" and that sounded awesome!


Or did you research commission structures and base it on what you saw as the highest income potential?


Or was it just convenient?

Initially I joined White Lily almost on a whim - it just appealed to me for some reason. I didn't join with any expectations - I purchased a kit and told myself I would decide how to proceed after I had sampled the products. The day I received my kit, I was so impressed with the products that I placed a huge order for myself...and from then on I have been going strong!


My other companies I joined because of the products - I wanted products that I would use myself (toys, gourmet food mixes) that allowed online sales.

I didn't vote because there wasn't just ONE thing that caused me to join.

The product is unbelievable! Really, there is nothing to compare
with it, I know it works because it has for me, my mom and my
cousin! The research Dr. Baechler has done and his credentials
are amazing. Also the company is so great! I took the
product, had to have more, wanted it wholesale, saw what my friend was
making by helping people, listened to a conference call and knew it was
something I could get behind!

The first one is scent-sations/Mia Bella
I joined them for the products!! I am a candle junkie and their candles are awesome!!

My other business is as a Giggle Parties Ind. Consultant (Romance Diva)
My #1 reason for joining them was their company image it’s very cute, and classy. They also have everything else I need in a romance party plan.

I joined my company because of their high moral values that matched mine. To me integrity in a company is very important and Noah's Ark Workshop has that.

I joined because I LOVE candles and Mia Bella has an awesome commmission plan, great company ethics, training the whole kit and caboodle!


They just ROCK!

I LOVE THE PRODUCTS I SELL!!!


I am a book lover at heart, always been a book worm and if I could own any business I wanted, I would own a book store. Our books are top quality, educational, and fun. I'm a firm believer in them and I even read our teen books!!


And I love kids ~ they're so funny! I love going to the schools ~ I was dropping off library worker's goody bags yesterday and just watching the kids, it just brings it all back, except a little different. 4 kids had to go to detention for texting during class!! smileys/smiley36.gifWhenI was in school my friends and I all learned to sign and would talk back and forth that way. Silly stuff, it keeps you young.


I'm also with Send Out Cards again because of the product. I use it in my biz and most people I know with SOC uses it for their biz. It's cheaper than cards at the store and sooooo much easier. I'm always on top of sending thank yous, b-day cards, appreciation, holidays, etc. I used to be the worst at sending cards and keeping up with things like that ~ not anymore!

I am one who said I'd never join a DS company again... Never say "never"! I
joined Taste Of Home Entertaining for exactly the reasons you stated
Debbie. I was already familiar with the Taste Of Home Brand, and Reader's
Digest, so I was comfortable with this start up. There is only one time to get
in at the beginning of something great like this, and I was unwilling to let it
pass me by.

I didn't vote because your reasons above didn't cover why I joined. I joined lia sophia because I saw a great business oppertunity! They have a versitile product backed up by an outstanding guarantee, it was flexable enough to fit my life, and the market was not saturated with reps.

The product and the price to sign upu to start my own business!! Couldn't beat it and you can't get better quality or the same quality at the store!!

I joined the Traveling Vineyard for one reason and one reason only, I really love wine and its been great learinng more about it. I was not even looking for an opportunity (my FT + job keeps me busy) but when I read about The Traveling Vineyard, I couldn't resist, and signed up without ever attending an event! I think the poll results confirms what most of us already know, if you don't love the product, whats the point? There are so many more companies than I ever thought, which means that everyone who really wants to pursue this line of business should be able to find a company with a product that they can be passionate about!

I joined The Traveling Vineyard because I saw other people being successful and having so much fun! I started by doingthe tastings w/my sister -together we made the incentive trip to Bordeaux, Francesmileys/smiley4.gif.After attendingthe 1st annual Harvest Conventionand sharing stories with other consultants- I couldn't wait to finally become official!!!! I wanted become a real member of the TTV family,make the incentive trips, enjoy the recognition, start building my own teamand yes(!) makemoney!!!

I had heard of the Pampered Chef but had never attended a party until my
sister had one. I was so mad that I went to a party without food!!! I thought
what kind of party is this?!?! Then I found out that the consultant made the
food for us there. I wasn't much into cooking but I just loved the products
and had to have more. I pretty much decided that night I wanted to sell but
I wasn't comfortable yet.After kicking around the idea and taking my
husband to the consultant meeting I signed up. I loved the products and
loved the group of women that are my fellow consultants.

I'm so happy to be a part of the Pampered Chef family. I'm also glad to be a
part of the sisterhood of Direct Sales. It's nice to have business savy women
in your life that take family to heart as well!

I joined because I loved he product and I wanted to get paid to bathe!

I joined because of the products. The company has great training and supports us by introducing tools to help us be successful. The keys and title to my very own Mustang is also an awesome perk for doing something I love! I don't have it yet, but my eye is on the prize.

I voted but none of them really capture why - It is so much the combination -


For me it was the products, the honesty, integrity and stability of the company, and foremost the freedom I had in how I sold, I love doing parties but never could make it in a party alone business - so having the freedom to do parties, sell also at fairs, festivals, craft fairs, 1:1, on my website, etc has been the perfect combination - plus the ease fo the leadership program was another awesome component - but I didn't realize that till I was in the business - whereas in other biz -I had tried for a year to get one in my downline I had 8 in two months - and retained them - in fact 6 are still with me 3.5 years later - so the match was right -


So to sum up I don't know that there is one single answer but the right combo to fit your desires and dreams and skill sets !

This is a great question and even though it is a combo of reason for me, thetrue reasonI am aSD rep is becauseI fell in love with the jewelry. I was actually looking into Cookie Lee but I had reservations. Then I found Silpada and that was itsmileys/smiley1.gif. Then I looked into the opportunity and found that it was fantastic. I looked into other non jewelry companies and while I liked the product I couldn't see myself selling it at this point in my life.

I didn't realize you were with Silpada ~ you've got some nice jewelry!!

I was another one of those people who said I would never do direct
sales, but when I saw a Big Yellow Box catalog I fell in love with the
products and I knew it was something I was meant to do! I love
the fact that our products are so original and I love that they promote
quality family time! So, it was definitely the products that
first caught my attention!

All of the above, except "because it was there." Therefore, I could not cast my vote because of all those reasons...

I was a customer for almost 20 years before I joined!


Then I learned what a great opportunity it offered, low start up, no mins, no quotas, and so on.....


Only regret~ Not starting sooner!

It's Wine, a proven company and a groundfloor opportunity. I was
someone that had never hosted a home party let alone become a
Consultant but it was the best thing for me. I control my
schedule, work with wonderful people and have fun making money.



Every reason I started keeps being validated. Wine is now out
selling beer! The age of wine drinkers is now starting to
infiltrate the 20 somethings which means my market is growing.
Our company is celebrating it's 20th year in the wine industry and next
month TTV will officially be 4 yrs in the party plan industry!



Beacause this is still so new I have the ability to grow a team
nationwide. But more importantly team members can also make their
goals a reality and have fun doing it!

I want to vote twice as well! I voted for the products - I DO love them! But the company and reputation was right up there as well. I mean, come on, it's Crayola!!!

Let Me start by saying I was not even looking for a Home Party Plan Company!
When I seen what Taste Of Home Entertaining had to offer. I couldn't pass it up I signed on the first night.I joined mostly for their products. I love to decorate...They have exactly my taste in decor!! Its New &amp; Todays trends its like shopping at Pier 1 ( one of my favorite stores!)Then the compensation plan was incredible.The hostess plan is just as good (makes it easier to get people to hold a party)And it sure doesnt hurt to be backed by the Readers Digest Ass. &amp; Taste of Home Magazine...with exclusive products from a top chef!
The second is Stuff A Friend I signed on with them because I thought the stuffing of the animals was adorable...with the price even better(considering I have built animals in a Franchise at the mall)It did take me a few days to sign on with them. I was a little unsure of the FREE sign up &amp; FREE website(sought of scared me things being FREE) But I took my chances with them &amp; it has worked out beautiful.
I took on two companies that I can be proud to promote!!! Their products are good quality &amp;stand out to most which make it easier!!
&amp; When TOHE is off the groundI am planning on taking on Mia Bella ... To hand out as thank yous &amp; prizes during my shows! &amp; fundraisers at school.Another company with excellent products that are useful!

Hi Everyone~


I joined the two companies I am with because of the products that were offered. I believe that if you yourself can not or will not use the product for yourself then that is really no point in being in the business.


With that said, here are the two companies that make me very happy!


1. Send Out Cards: I have always been a person that could not get get greeting cards out to people. I had the best of intentions but just could never get it done. Send Out Cards has made it SO very easy for me to do. I never forget birthdays, anniv. or special events anymore. They remember it for me! It just do not get any better than this! And it cost me so much less than getting a greeting card from the store!smileys/smiley17.gif


2. Scent-Sations/Mia Bella: I have always been a candle girl! They make me feel wonderful and uplifted. So when I came across this product, I was floored.

I joined Country Bunny bath and Body initially because:
