I am going to start working towards four web certifications through International Webmasters Association. All online. I plan on doing one course at a time. They are all about 4 - 8 weeks and very reasonably priced. I am mostly new to web design and eventually plan on emphazing the programming side of things.

What I would really like is if anyone else is interested in going through these, we could be online study (and support) buddies. Keep each other motivated and so forth. The website is:

I just looked at that, it looks like you have to take ALL of the classes listed under each certification program. I couldn't see how much they charge per class. The certificate was 58$ But that's AFTER you take all of the required classes. I could be wrong but this looks like a lot more than just 4 classes. I'd love to do it, just a matter of money and time.

I am going to take it one class at a time. And for each certification it is 4 or 5 classes not all that are listed there. I paid the $49 membership fee so the class prices are greatly reduced and buying the books used from Amazon or half.com or ebay helps alot. I going to work towards the certifications but more importantly I think these classes will help me develop a portfolio, work on my own websites and learn alot. Starting with XHTML in May.

Sounds good. I wish I could do it but I'm not in the position to pay for the classes right now. Good Luck though. It sounds like a great opportunity.

It's great if you're planning on returning into the working force one day. I likethe software tutorials out there. I'm impatient so this is the best route for me.
