I realise that the internet is the wave of the future and I understand that Jackie and all the "big guns" use the internet. the problem is that I am not internet savy in the least. So, I have two questions. One, is will I be so far in the dust with this company if I don't use the internet that I should go back to my old home party plan company? they are not really on-line very much. Also, where is a good souce to learn on-line technique if that is the way I decide to go.
I am honestly not sure that I even want to build my business on line anyway.
Anyone else somewhat scared off by all this internet thing and how I am feeling like I am going to be left behind in this company if I don't market on-line (for recruits)
My goal is only to make $2,000 a month. At first I thought I wanted to be "jackie Ulmer, charlie, whoever the "best" is" But now I really think that I just want to be - Heather, mom to Erin, wife to Jason, ect. All I want is to quit my job. I am already only working part time. so, if I can make $2,000 a month I am happy and out the door of the hospital. Yeah!
I guess my question is: if I don't do it on line do I stand a chance with scent-sations? Also, if I do decide to get on-line training what sources would you recomend? Especially on a tight budget.

Well, I just recently started and JUST got my candles last week...so obviously I can't really tell you anything from experience.
If you are in Jackie's group though, she does have a whole step-by-step online training thing in the yahoo group. She has really set it up so simple that just about anyone can follow it. In fact, a lot of it she does herself for a small fee.
I'm really not sure what the other groups have. I think all the groups have yahoo groups set up, though, so you may want to look through yours, especially through the file section of it, and see what you can find. I was kind of surprised at just how much stuff was in there- forms, scripts, the online stuff, etc.
Good luck! smileys/smiley1.gif

Our products sell themselves. period!smileys/smiley2.gif

Lori and Cinnamon are right, Heather. The beauty of it being your business is you can do it YOUR WAY.
Also, most people who buy Mia Bella candles, it is when they smell them that they fall in love with them. So you have to do most of your selling offline anyways, because people will buy when they smell our fabulous candles.
Recruiting offline is also possible. Just take the opportunity to talk to everyone about the business that you feel may be interested, and let them, again, smell the candles; that is to your benefit. Also, give brohcures with the business information on it to your regular customers and let them know about the COTM opportunity.
The benefit of working the business online, though, is that you can recruit new COTM members from all over North America. Where, in person, you may be more limited to those around you.
I have seen many individuals build a substantial income just from selling at home parties, fairs, fundraisers, etc.; without even really concentrating on recruiting. So I wouldn't give up on Mia Bella yet, just because you may not want to build your business online. It's a Great product that people love, and they come back to buy more.

thank you for the response! jackie is not my upline. It is Shep and Jan. Who ironically built most of thier business off-line. But I agree that on-line is good. I just want to get things going off-line as well or at least until I can learn the on-line thing. On factor is cost. Parties cost me virtually nothing and I can make a good profit with them. And I know that on-line can become quite an investment if you don't do things correctly.
thank you for the encouragment.
My first open house is next friday-wish me luck!smileys/smiley1.gif

Heather,
Offline is a great way to go. You've obviously got experience and contacts to get off to a great start that way!
And Heather- guess what? You are already online! You've got a website http://www.pookeybearsmom.scent-team.com , which you should make click-able in your sig file. You are posting here on the forum.
Jackie (and other leaders) have developed some great online systems, but you should also consider the fact that Lori Moreno is consistantly a top 10 sponsor monster and she does not have a personal website. She uses the company replicated one. People find her online thru ads and forum posts. And they call her or pm her. The whole idea behind a personal website is for search engine optimization/ranking and to brand yourself online.
The one thing I would suggest you do is get a "redirect" name for your scent-team website. Put that on your cards, flyers, ads, etc. Both for local and online advertising. A catchy candle-type name or HeatherGroce.com. It shouldn't cost more than $10.
You can have great success and keep this simple. And $2,000 a month is a GREAT goal! Most people in mlm/direct sales are part-time, with part-time income. It's the bread and butter of this industry.
Keep it simple, have fun, and dance to the beat of your own drum!smileys/smiley2.gif
