Do you happen to do anything "extra" during the relaxation portion of the spa?
Before we start I show everyone the Tingler. I tell them about it and then I say that I am going to come around after lip apeel and eye pads are in place and place my hand on their shoulder and if they don't want me to use it on them to raise their hand. So far I haven't had anyone NOT want me to use it on them. I just thought it would be better to give a person an "out" incase they don't like having their head touched or fear of messing up their hair.
I've heard of some people using little back massagers (I think they're called nubbies?) during the SOH.

I do a hand massage with the extreme repair, usually just have time for 1 hand. I know we aren't supposed to touch people necessarily, so I do the tap the knee thing so they know I'm there. Everyone always loves it!
I like the tingler idea. I have seen them on eBay, were they a BC thing that was phased out? Our unit doesn't use them.
I always do a relaxation exercise where I talk them through like "feel your shoulders relax, let your arms hang at your side...".

When I do my spa I use the Sqwiggler (Update to Tingler- it's motorized) when I am introducing who I am and what I do.I just walk around and demo on each as I'm talking.Like you- I give them the choice to opt out. Most do love it but I have had a few that refuse.
It isn't a BC product though- sad to say! My recruitor got it for me when I signed on. I also do a hand massage when I do the Sugar Body Butter. The guests are all relaxing with Warming Trend and a warm cloth on their face.I go to each one and do a mini handmassage with the butter as they are relaxing- this is the favorite part of the spa.
I have wanted to simplify my spas a little but I wouldn't know what to cut out. I begin with Show Of Hands and follow up with Extreme Repair- this way they can then be seated and not have to get up again until the spa is over. I think it breaks the relaxation mood if they are constantly having to get up and down.I thenlet them demo the Lip Apeel and then the skincare set. Before relaxation time, they do Margarita on each foot and put on the heated socks. During relaxation time they use the Warming Trend and I massage each hand with the butter.
I have had some to fall asleep but that is okay- what better way to assure that you are doing a real relaxation spa !
