Hey everyone!

Quick question. What is summertime like for your party plan business? Do you have any problems with bookings? How is sponsoring?

The reason I am wondering is because I honestly don't remember how my summer business was last year! I remember being busy...but not nearly as busy as I am right now. (I don't know if that was *my* decision...or if things slowed down a bit...) LOL.

Any thoughts? Do you have any tips for increasing summertime business?

Thanks!

Traci

Summertime is a great time for business! With kids out of school and nothing to do, it's the perfect time for workshops and field trips!

I'm trying to get my workshop themes all planned out and flyers out for the summer in the next week or two so any shows booked are just a bonus to what I already have scheduled.

That would be my suggestion is to planyour events for the summer. I'm a planner though, so whatever time of year it is or whatever holiday is coming up I work with it and have a marketing plan for what I want to do. It beats just waiting for people to approach you. smileys/smiley2.gif

I offer more specials in the summer for my hosts to keep my business going. August tends to be slower on parties, but I have one entire week that I spend with a booth at our county fair, so I'm still doing business just in a different aspect. It's all in what you make of it.

Summer is looking to be an excellent time for me. There is always a day care, camp, or birthday party to be had. A suggestion for you would be to try and market craft workshops with local groups during the summer.

Booths!! Of course!! smileys/smiley36.gif

I forget how things are backwards where I live. Outdoor booths and craft festivals are coming to an end this month because the weather will be too hot. Our seasonbegins at the beginning of winter/end of fall and end in spring.

Booths are a fantastic opportunity - I try to do as many of these as I can - very worthwhile!

I agree that summer themed classes/parties/workshops are a great idea!! I'm really just getting started and was not here last summer, but people are already excited aboutthe Smoothie Bar Patio Parties I have coming up in May. They will include our weight loss system and our sun care line with lots of demos and can include the whole family right in the back yard.

Everybody loves a fun outdoor party- around here people just can't wait to get out after a LONG COLD winter! (and they want to shed a few pounds!).

I hope to see a full calendar in the coming months!

It depends on the target hostesses. Those with older kids seem to be running more, so you want those who have little ones, or in some of your cases no kids. smileys/smiley36.gif

Boothes are great. And follow-up. Do outdoor parties, and themed things.

Yes follow up is the key, because in the summer people are outside having fun and they are not going to remember to call you. So follow up is key!
