I consider mine both High End and Science Based because we have some of the most cutting edge skin care, and an unbelievable R&D department. It's AVON.

I'm a backed with science/clinical research girl. I do like botanical ingredients, too. It doesn't have to be all-natural, but I guess I like a combo of nature & science. I don't mind spending $ on my skin. But, I'm 37 with a yucky tanning history and had melanoma removed at 34, so I want to know the company I buy from can back their claims with clinical studies (anti-aging/sun damage is obviously my main concern).
Lots of super choices out there for everyone, thank goodness! :)

Deb, you would fall over in your chair if I told you how much I spend on my skin per month! Good thing I work with plastic surgeons and get great discounts...but even then! And, no, I do not do Botox, or any hyaluronic fillers, just skin care stuff...
I am both high-end and science backed!

Me myself I am a aloe freak ( the science has been out on aloe for 5000 years) and botanicals.
I do fine some "high end" skin care lines interesting. :)

Oh yes, we caught it really early and got rid of it! :) Know your moles/spots and get ANYTHING strange or different checked right away. And I do love aloe. I had a bunch of aloe pants back in FL that I babied and ran to get some every time anyone got a boo-boo! :)

I have tried several differnt types of skin care products over the years because my skin has gone through so many different stages as I have gotten older and none of them consistantly did the job. I am definitely a Sensaria girl!!! I have had nothing but fabulous results!! and the best part about it is that the products are natrual based and affordable. After being a customer I decided to be a rep and I have never looked back :)

I use Watkins facial products, because they are certified natural. I had skin cancer on my face, from all the chemicals I was slathering on (facial soaps, day and night cream, acne meds, hair remover, Sunscreen, etc.)
I stopped using everything for the longest time! Then, my skin started to show some aging (despite hiding from the sun under big hats and umbrellas.) So, I've been using the facewash, and 100% natural day and night cream, and it's not giving me acne! It's nice to feel like I can use beauty products again.
I don't often wear makeup. I have organic mineral makeup, but it still breaks me out. :(

Lifevantage and their true science is by far and wide the best out there. Lifevantage is a publicly traded company that has a great flagship product called Protandim. That with true science makes a great one two punch. Plus the ABC primetime media credibility we have is something no other company can touch. That along with the 20 independent peer research studies being done on it by places like the University of Michigan and Vanderbilt University makes Lifevantage great. The skin cream has done wonders for a lot of people and Protandim has helped many turn back some of the aging principles in their cells. In my 7 years making great money from home I have never seen a company that had it all put together like Lifevantage.

After trying a bunch of products and not getting the results I wanted, I am officially a Rodan + Fields gal, so #6 - Dermatologists. When I think of the wasted money under my bathroom sink, it makes me sad that I didn't start R+F 18 months ago when it was first mentioned to me.

Science based or natural/organic for me. I know that seems like a contradiction but I do switch up my skin care at times and use both.
Just like the foods I eat. some organic, some not.

Scent-Sations just formed a partnership with Wellness Formulations and now we get to market the Dermal Renu system. This just happened recently. The reviews pouring in so far sound fantastic. Check out the Dermal Renu website to learn more about the system.
What's cool about it being through Scent-Sations is that you can sign up as a distributor and then only pay the wholesale price! And if you find 10 women who want to start using the system and sign up then you can get your 2-month system almost free. There are a lot of options.

I'm on the "what really works" train and for me that is Bellamora! What it does in less than 10 minutes takes most products weeks to do! I was not the person that took great care of my face so my face shows the abuse....... too much tanning, no sun screen, no good skin care program in my younger years. Age spots, wrinkling, etc. I am amazed by Bellamora does and cannot wait to see what my face is going to look like with continued use!

I use what works for me to correct the main skin problems/issues that I have. For me it is dark splotches from over sun exposure over the years....and fine lines appearing.
In the past when I suffered from adult acne I used proactiv.
I will mix and match products too.......I have used a "corrector" of some sort from one line (Avon) and a moisturizer from another line (LHN).
And like Vickie above....I agree...if it works fast...that is an added bonus. For example, I'm now using Bellamora's product and it's exfoliant does in just one or two applications what Avon's did for me over the course of about 2 months.
If I had to choose what category I fit in....I would have to say "dermatolagist/lab" made or backed would be my main choice. If it has doctors/dermatolgists behind it...that will get my attention. I also like to buy products that are affordable (and for me that means no more than $70 for a 2 months supply of a good corrector type product) and if it is a new product I'm trying for the first time, if it has a money back guarantee that is also is something that I find encouraging to try too.
Now from a business standpoint....I like a product that samples well and provides an immediate "wow" effect. It just makes selling and referring that much easier when people want the product after sampling it. Some examples of such products in network marketing that I am familiar with would be Mary Kays hand moisturizer kit (forgot what it is called), the LHN Face Lift product, Arbonne's Nutrimin C RE9 line. If the product fits into the "trying is buying" category then it gets my attention business wise.

I reckon Nature has all the answers that's why I promote Miessence (ONEgroup).
I've tried the "Scientific" approach but came to recognise Science developed all the chemicals causing cancers and the like in industries like...
- Building (Asbestos - manipulated natural product) - Talc is a byproduct of Asbestos I think.
- Industrial (Propylene Glycol) - Used in Break fluid, automotive degreasers, floor cleaners and Sorbolene cream.
- Agriculture (Glyphosate) - Derived from a compound used in chemical based skin cleansers
Science has a lot of positives... but often has no logic.

I use No. 7 from Boots...the Protect and Perfect Line. This product is from England and you can get it at Target. When I was working there I would see lots of women buying the products and since I needed a new face line cream (became allergic to MK products I was using) I decided to give them a try. Each bottle is about $20 but it is worth it.
Just the other day I was telling my girlfriend about it and after hanging up she called me back to say Entertainment Tonight was just talking about the products :)

I also have tried several types of skin care. I never could find one with a moisturiser however that helped balance my skin. I have combination skin and in the summer I would feel greasy in the T-Zone and in the winter my cheeks were dry. I wanted a professional grade skin care but, they didn't do all that I needed. Until now, Become Beauty has done that and more. It combines the beauty of nature with the power of science. It's new to the US, just 3 years young. I became an advisor after trying a weekender kit love it.

One important category that wasnt mentioned was Non Toxic products. You can have organic products that still contain chemicals. My favorite product line is Ava Anderson Non Toxic (http://www.mynontoxicbiz.com) because it actually rates a 0 on the toxicity scale at cosmeticsdatabase.com. How do your products rate? This is a great non profit site to check the toxicity levels of all the products you use.

My skin is a bit sensitive so I'm very cautious when it comes to choosing beauty products. That's why I only stick to sensaria products since it doesn't give me any allergic reactions and it helps my skin to stay healthy.

Basically, I use what works. I've tried EVERYTHING, but the only thing that has solved my skin issues (sensitive skin, brown spots, aging), has been clinically tested skin care products that were developed by dermatologists using OTC strength medicines.

I'm a combination of 1&6. If I'm going to spend money on it then I want it to work. It's funny that your example for a #6 is Proactiv. I actually teamed up with the Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields the creators of Proactiv. Small world! ;)
