I'm sorry. smileys/smiley19.gif
Unfortunately, that is a risk with any new company. How long were they open?
A few have folded in the last 6 months. It's a risk we all take if you join something new.
Were all the companies with newer ones? Maybe you should look at some of the established companies.
Best of luck to you in your search! Think of it as another adventure! This time you'll find the pot of gold. smileys/smiley32.gif

The first one was Cera Bella, they closed after just under 5 years.
Comforts of Home was originally Wicker Plus, they were open 25 years.
Sweet Berry Designs...well, I think everyone remembers them...only a few monthxs...I know, I know!
Quiet Places moved into direct sales in 2002.
And I was about to sign up with Affordable Luxuries when they closed last year!
You may notice the theme here, except for one, is candles. CB sold candles, bath and body, and nice candle holders. Quiet Places sold candles, bath and body, Christian books, nice candle holders, a little home decor. AL sold candles and nice candle holders.
I wonder if these companies just can't monetarily keep up with the inventory issues it takes to stay in business. I don't know...I mean, PartyLite has done it for years and Northern Lights at Home has done it for quite some time. But NLAH also has brick and mortar and online business to support them, and I've also seen some of the NLAH candles sold somewhere else online. PartyLite hasa major corporation behind it, too, so maybe that's how those 2 can do it. I don't know. I just know I love candles and the direct sales concept but it's been really hard to keep those around...together.
Like someone said, onward and upward!

Having an established store doesn't mean anything. There are so many variables that go into play, like marketing, understanding of direct sales, team, recruiting, competition, etc. So don't feel bad.

Be careful about Bittersweet. I don't sense that they are that strong either...

My friend was with AL for almost a year when they closed - thier root candles sold really well for her - the possitive thing was she had already established a customer base and they stuck it out with her, first shedid wholesale for a few companies andnow she started creating her own
At least with your Biz all being the same base item you can offer your clients the same sort of product
At least you are already going on with other ventures! And staying possitive!

I'm sorry, Missy! I was with AL for about 1.5yrs before they shocked us
all and closed. I came home from the hospital after having our son to
the email! I had a fundraiser that just closed and a customer w/ a
damaged item (expensive lantern set). Luckily, ROOT came through and
honored the fundraiser order. Your name sounds familiar. I think I
spoke with you about AL when you were looking! I'm with Mia Bella now,
but TNI is my main business. I retail them in my massage practice.
Anyway...Good luck with your new venture! At least you have a sense of humor & great attitude about it.

Debbie, you're funny! Let's see if I have any Memories of how to Creatively disguise names... smileys/smiley2.gif What a shocker, huh? They had a great sign-on special this month and my sister in law is my upline. I still have lingering candle customers, though, who have no interest in my unmentioned company.

Missy,
I am so sorry this has happened to you, but don't look at it as you are the party plan killer - look at it as you are the one who weeds out the weak!! Keep your chin up! You're going to be fine!
