Hi, my name's Amanda and I'm currently new to the WAHM forums and site. I've been wandering through sites trying to get an idea for something I can do at home currently and I noticed alot of people doing candle selling. I personally love candles, and have tons of them throughout my and my fiancee's room. Currently I'm trying to find someway to make a little extra money and also give me something to do. I'm only 24 years old and a stay at home mom with a 2 year old son. My fiancee works trying to put money aside cause right now we live with his parents house sitting their house cause his father does welding all over the states, so it gives us a plce to stay but it's just not home. So since most of his money goes to run their house, we don't have the enjoyment of setting money aside for a downpayment to our own house. Then I got thinking maybe since I have alot of free time cause I'm bored 24/7 at home, all I do is play with my son which I love but he likes playing by himself at times and then I'm just sitting here doing nothing. So I was just looking for some information about the candle selling business, I'm still new to everything and just thought maybe it would be a fun project to try or just a small income into the house that could be put aside for savings. I understand it's probably not something to live off of, nor is it a get rich fast thing, I'm not looking for that, I'm just mostly hunting some insight into what it all includes and trying to find something that will keep me from going insane. With the fact ne only one car, and no where to go, and no one to hangout with in my state cause my family is states away, I'm kind of stuck, just hoping someone can help me, or inform me of something to do to help my family, and help me stay sane. So if anyone could just give me some information, or tell me if I even sound like someone who'd be good for the candle selling business, I'd really appreciate it. I'm just at a loss right now and trying to find something, anything, to help out in my house to get our own place to call home, and something to help me. Thank you all.

Welcome to the WAHM world!! There are several great candle companies here and great people who can help you out. You will probably receive an abundance of information as there are several companies that all offer a little something different. My suggestion is to look at each company closely, narrow it down to 2 or 3 and make your decision. Find someone you can talk with and get all your answers and go from there.
I represent SoyLicious.com Candles and would be happy to give you more information.
SoyLicious.com offers 40% off retail pricing to consultants, there are no sales quotas, and it is only $10 a month to be active. We have an autoship of candles for $30 a month, but you have a choice if you want that or just the $10 membership. PLUS, this month, we are offering new consultants to join for only $10.00!!! Worth at least checking it out :)
I will be back later to check in, have to get to the post office before it closes. Best wishes and I look forward to hearing from you soon :) ~ Jolena

Sounds like you're off to a good start by looking around and asking questions. I recently did the same and decided on SoyLicious because of their natural soy candles and great commission. I had been interested in having my own candle business for many months but it was just too expensive to invest in all the supplies and insurance needed to make my own candles. This way I get to enjoy the products and selling without the headache that comes with making them on a big scale.

I just PM'd you! I sell candles but also just came across a new company thats seriously awesome! I was a district manager at a salon and an airbrush tanning expert at my salon as well as a candle consultant. 3 days ago I came across a company that does airbrushing! I called 2 salons who both where super willing to allow me to advertise my services there and come in to do appointments, I also booked several appointments and parties! This is going to be huge... I just sent you some info.
I wish you the best of luck and welcome to wahm.com

Hi Amanda,
Welcome to the forum. It's great to meet you.. My advice is to really take your time and look at each company carefully as well as the compensation plan, requirements to stay active and to earn commissions; stuff like that. Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. Another thing I suggest is to try the products and see if you like them. For me I have to have a passion for the product as well as what the business offers me. There are many wonderful candle companies, I hope you find the right fit for you and what your looking for. Much luck and success to you.. :)
