Hi!
I have a bunch of questions for you all today, hope you don't mind!
I have yet to have an open house, and am dying to have one to get things going here. Think I should do one before NTC, after to promote the new products, or both?
Also, if I do one before, I was hoping for a Friday night or Sunday afternoon. Do you think Friday the 7th is too soon? Meaning not giving people enough time to plan? My next option is Friday the 14th, but that is Good Friday and the start of our Spring vacation for the next week. Think anyone would come on Good Friday? The 21st, I have a party, leaving the 28th. So WDYT?
Also, how many is too many to invite? I started going through both my kids class lists from last year and this, friends, neighbors, and anyone else I can think of. I am at about 60 invites, and still have about a dozen to go. Now I know that doesn't mean all will show up, but even if only 15 show up, that's a lot for my little house. Think I should cut my list down?
Thanks so much for the help!

I know someone who invited 40 & 11 showed. I thought that was a pretty turn out for the number invited. How are you organizing the Open House? Are you doing a presentattion of any kind? If it is set up as a walk thru/mingle & chat thing I think you would be able to handle a larger number as most won't stay for the entire time (i.e. a 2 hour time frame allows folks to wander in check things out & leave when they are done).
I don't have any advice on whether you should do both a before & after...sorry.

Sorry to tread on this thread...I just have a similar question.
I wanted to do a 'beach party' and focus on the sun care line and getting our feet 'sandal ready' but I also want to showcase the new products next month. Hmmmm...I can't decide if I should do one big one or two?
Do you advertise for something like this or just invite current customers?

I think your beach party is an AWESOME idea!! Can I come??smileys/smiley2.gif
Speaking of, has anyone ever had the self-tanner at the party for people to try? It seems like people would buy it up once they got to try it and saw how great itis!

Cassandra had a great idea about using the tanner & the tattoo's to show immediate results.

yes, with stencils from the craft store, use cotton balls or something to apply, q-tip maybe, depends on size of stencil

Well, I have narrowed down the date, and I am going to do one before and one after.
Now my question is, what format have you found to be most successful? Do you do a presentation, or just have the products out, let people browse, and answer any questions that come about.
I was thinking more of a modified presentation. Like maybe my "why", talk about Arbonne, go over some of the products, then invite anyone who wants to try the re9 and sss or foot bath to do so? (Maybe I will talk to some ofmy friends before handand have them get started to get the ball rolling.) I don't know, any advice?
Also, what is the thing with the stencil and the self-tanner? Do you have them stencil in a design with the tanner? Does the tanner work after 1 application that they would see? I only used it myself for 3 days for a demonstation, and after 3 days, my color was only slightly darker.
Thank you!

gosh, I've never personally tried it, just heard of it before and how fantastic it worked to get people interested in the self tanner... guess I've got to make a trip to the craft store to get a cute stencil!smileys/smiley36.gif

I am new here... but what has worked for me is the presentation that last only of me speaking for about 20 - 30 minutes which is (OWN YOUR LIFE) that has giving me great results and also the audience sees how easy it is and they dont get bored... and remember people only remember 30 minutes of what you say... anyway... and if you are only doing thirty minutes of talking.... you have more time to mingle ask questions and be a little more personal... with them.. I hope this helps..

The open house sounds like a great idea. I have been thinking about it myself. We are in a rather new neighborhood (less than 2 years old).
For those who have done an open house, do you just put the flyer in their mailbox, door, etc?
