I am thinking about carrying one of BC's makeups to demo. I have talked with a few BC ladies in my area, and they sell mostly creme to powder.

I looked for the thread previously about this, but this new board doesn't go back very far.

I will primarily be targeting 40 plus women. Now that BC has so many foundations

mineral
regeneration
secret agent
creme to powder
w/d
tinted moisterizer (I consider this a foundation)
creme

I do want to include at least one foundation but since there are no samples, just investing in the main colors of even one line is a considerable investment!

I am opting out of mineral, creme and even regeneration despite it being my favorite. I just seem to feel it's going to be discontinued although I have felt this way a long time and it's still here!

So I appreciate to know if your clients of the mature generation want the most.

Also I am considering not even getting into foundation, just sticking to lipsticks and glosses.

I am putting in my order Monday so appreciate any answers!

I only stock 2 formulas~ Age Defying and Wet Dry.

I reccommend age Defying for anyone over 40ish, or with dryer skin, or who loves a liquid foundation.

I reccommend Wet Dry for anyone uner 40 , or with oilier skin, or who wants a natural or light sheer make up look.

My clients are mostly caucasian, so I stock N2, P2, and N3 mostly.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sherri that does help

actually the two you mentioned are the two I wear, along with the new tinted m which I am still debating about. I do intend to focus on the 40 plus crowd, my age range. It was suggested to me that older women don't like the powder but I am over 50 and I love the soft glow w.d gives me.

I agree with Sherri. And you can get the mineral foundations on sample cards. Some ladies like the mineral make-up. I personally like wet/dry.

Take care,
Catherine

So right now I am thinking to demo

w/d
age defying
lipsticks - fire and ice and guva
gloss rose shimmer cadilliac cowgirl
blush pink and mauve

My primary clientell will probably be just like Sheri in color range maybe a little more beige.

I am also thinking about carrying the creme, it's just three colors and some women like it.

Even just this small amount just to demo is over $100 if you get it in just three or four shades plus colors etc.

Hey BC get us some color samples!

I totally agree on samples!!

I think I sell mostly wet/dry, and most of girls on my team wear it ,too.
I sell lots of ballerina lip, too.
But, people have their own preferences when it comes to makeup.I always come up against that.

The only thing I demo with is wet/dry and I only use P2 and N2 because they are either going to need lighter or darker. At this time, I don't have any clients with darker skin.

I do carry all the blushes, eye shaddows, lip sticks and glosses for demo.

I don't keep an inventory of make up. I have started keeping N2's N3's on my shelf because I'll use them or I have a client that loves the N3's.

My personal favorites in the make up are:
Wistera Lane & Au Natural for eyes
mauve for blush
cowgirl cadillac gloss
lattee gloss
Kiss Kiss Lip stick

Yes the kiss kiss will be included in my show because I love it!

It is my intention to show what BC does best, or better or different and the kiss kiss is it.

What I am seeing from all of you is that all of you sell the w/d.

I really don't want to bother with a foundation. But I think w/d is the best of its kind and that women should know about it!!

I have decided against age defying because although it has an spf, there is no expiration date. I disagree that an opened foundation has a shelf life of three years, because the tinted m I just got expires in 2011. I made a decision earlier this year not to "trust" any spf foundation unless there is an expiration on the crimp.

In fact, I am surprised there isn't one on cell block c because its an spf. Maybe someone from BC who reads these boards can help out.

So I am deciding between the creme and the tinted m for liquid customers. The beauti of that is there are only three colors to keep up with, and the older clients use a lot of the oil inclusive foundations. I probably won't have too many dark clients, but if I do at least I'll have something on hand with minimial financial output at this time.

It's hard to be a personal user/small seller unless you just stick with the very basic things or buy a lot of starter sets!!

I think that's a good idea. When the age-defying foundation came out, I bought a variety of colours because I thought I'd sell a ton of it. Unfortunately, it all went rancid in 9 months. There's no way it has a shelf life of 3 years. I would just get one colour of the age-defying (N2 probably) and show it so they can see how it feels and looks on the skin, and then guess about the colour. I had way more customers buy that foundation than any other, so I think it's worth getting one demo bottle.

Thanks for all the advice. I decided to cover the bases and order the old package N3/4 w/d on sale (P3 wasn't so I had to pay full price of the new package) to demo, the N/3 and P2/3 of age defying (thanks to you Canadian girls) and all three cremes. I already have the light and medium of the tinted m tand will probably be getting the dark, although the light (pale) is VERY light both in texture and color.

I feel more comfortable after this discussion having a wide range, because no one here seems to carry much secret agent of creme to powder.

Thanks for your help!
