Happy New Year Ladies!!
Today is the day where everyone is equal on the scoreboards. Forget the past, forget the canceled appointments, forget the no's. Set your goals, aim high, and most important be consistent!
To have a great seminar year, you must have great months, to have great months you must have great weeks, to have great weeks you must have great days, and to have great days you must work with purpose, diligence, and consistency!

Jolly - this is very true and well said. While I love the many great women that I have met and the wonderful teachings, I did take alot of time away from my family when I was building my business.
Today, I just have a great customer base, not running around with appointments, etc. Of course, I could always use more business, but other things are just more important to me right now.

Such an honest admission that really flies in the face of the MK recruiting scripts that attempt to sell you on the fact that you can work this business around families' schedules.

Well I just couldn't let that last comment pass. I am a proud, devoted stay-at-home mom who thinks that Mary Kay has only improved my relationship with my kids and family. I need and enjoy having "something else" to devote my brain to for a few hours every week, I look forward to meeting with positive women at unit meetings when it works into our schedule, and I work during naptimes and playdates when none of my 3 young kids even notice the difference. So, yes you can certainly work your business around family schedules.

I should add to say that I also worked a full time job (5 days a week) and then would go out in the evenings and some weekends. So, It was my decision to do that at the time. Working my full time job and going out to do facials/shows on week nights and weekends caused me to burn out quickly. That was my experience - not everyone is the same and I respect the ladies who push their way to the top.

I have a question. I don't want to start anything, it's just a question.
I heard an NSD retired at an early age. Good for her.
But I just heard that Rhonda Shasteen left MK. Is that true? Does anyone know where she went? I really like Rhonda.

Rhonda retired - you can read more about it on her old blog (Mary Kay Blog: Reflections on Mary Kay Products and People (http://reflections.marykay.com/))

Thanks Melissa! I love fresh starts! In my life I get 3 every year. My religious faith starts a new year of service on Sept 1 . Mary Kay's is July 1st and of course there is the good ol' reliable Jan 1st. Each of those dates gives me a reason to count my blessings, look at my life, where I've been and where I'm going and then determine where I want to focus my energy going forward.
I haven't been here in a long long time, hope everyone is well and Cecilia it was wonderful to read your posts. You were such a positive force on this Board and always displayed a diplomatic Go- Give spirit!
Jolly you said "Relationships.. unlike product line.. should never be discontinued. ". VERY wise words. I treasure the relationships I've built over the years.
Wootini- good to "see" you as well!
Take care everyone, blessings to you all!
