Hi, I have a question. I am currently employed in a physicians office, four pediatricians and two internal medicine docs. I would love to work from home doing the coding/billing that I do at work, but the boss says "that aint gonna happen".
I know that a lot of documents are now scanned, most of them are accessed through the internet and I am wondering if anyone has contacted established billing companies to see if they needed to help to post payments to patient accounts. I do all the coding and assist with payment posting of ERAs, EOBs, front desk payments and lockbox payments.
Does anyone do this type of payment posting from home and if so, could you give me some tips on how to go about doing this? thanks!!

Just like you I do billing in an office and would love to transition to doing it from home. Sorry, but I don't have any information on how to or which company to try with. Wanted to let you know there are others like you.

I do not know about medical billing but if you have three-four years of medical coding experiance you can get home based work from various companies. You can find more related information here Medical Coding Career (http://medical-coding-carers.blogspot.com/)
