Hello my mia bella mammas!! question.....

My daughter's class is sponsoring a school wide fundraiser with the candles. They are earning money for an end of year field trip. Now, what do you think would be most effective?

Should i send fliers home in their school packet or set up a table by the office? Iam thinking that the display would be costly for me to order so many candles up front and then be stuck with them, but the fliers dont obvioulsy do our candles any justice!!

SHould i include a brochure with the flier? There are over 300 kids!

Thanks!! I want them to have a good turn out!

Hi Jennifer-when I do fundraisers, I provide a two folder packet with all the information about mia bella fundraisers, cover letter, info, profit chart, business card, and of course I include info on joining the cotm program, and the fundraiser forms. I usually pick 15 of the best selling scents. I make it look very professional. I also make upscent samples for them. I put 4-5 scent samples in a 3x5 baggie.

I did this for a group of 12 boys for a sports team. We met and each parent received a packet of information and samples. I brought three jars and passed them around. In my letter I explain that when they meet with family or friends they have samples to smell. Some people are not sure about candles. But at least if they have something to smell.. they will oohh and awww-smileys/smiley2.gifand thats the "smell and sell" technique.

Since your doing this for a school with a higher volume of children, you might just want to do the same as above but not in a folder. You can staple them. I would just get some nice paper and print all the info and you can staple in the left hand corner. Have a display table at the front of the school and have the forms and a few candles for parents to smell.. at least the parents will have the visual idea of what the candles look like. I would order the fundraiser forms in the back.

But usually schools will send their own letters with the fundraising material. The purpose is to support the school with supplies and etc. so family will participate. You will do fine.

Good luck and if you need anything let me know. smileys/smiley2.gif

Most of the time schools will make copies of everything for you so you can saveon your ink. If they don't have color copier, than you can print them out or a copy place might becheaper. Are you using the grid on the back of the back office flyer?

I think if you limited the scents to 12 you could have those on display up in the office. I would do both. Smelling and seeing the candlesand also explaining about ourhow unique our candlesare is important.

Congratulations, Jen. Let us know how it goes!smileys/smiley32.gifEdited by: lovethiscandle

Debra, that is a good idea too, I could have those scents set up and take orders from them.

I will also have the fliers put in the folders and let them know that the listed scents are available for smelling in the lobby ona certain day. I think that may help!

Thanks!! smileys/smiley2.gif

Hi Jen, thanks!! You are always so supportive! You are awesome! smileys/smiley2.gif

I am giving them $6 per candle. I usually give $5 but since it is my daughters class i will give them the extra dollar. I wont make much but that is ok.

I will let you know how it goes!
