Are there any candle companies that can be successful without doing home or catalog parties? Any that have no monthly fees or COTM requirements?

How are you planning to get sales, exclusively through the Internet? Even if you don't want to do home parties, catalogue parties are likely to get your more sales than relying on the Internet.

Regardless. There are no monthly fees or COTM plans with Gold Canyon Candles, altho, there is a fee if you are wanting a website. If you want to maintain your 25% discount, you do need to do $450 every quarter. If you don't, then you would drop to 15%. If you are looking at doing exclusive Internet sales, then you will need a website which is $29.97 for three months, or $100 for a year.

party sales do help you make bigger proffits but I personally don't like to rely soley on them. there are two companies I think you may want to try and consider.

(1) Soylicious - they no longer have a COTM reqirement - yuo can get your start up kit for only $39.99 and that is including shipping, then they only have a monthly fee of $10 a month for your website. They still have the COTM option, so you can switch back and forth if you decide you may want it one month. They also start you out at 40% commsiision.

(2) Florian Essence - they are a very new company that sell handmade bath and body products but they also sell candle melts and have a huge selection of scents. They are free to join for the month of june and have no start up kit requirement for the month of june. You get the website for free. They offer 25% commision.

One thing to keep in mind is that soylicious has been around longer (but still new..less than 200 reps) so they have company provided sales materials you can purchase, while florian is so now...less than 30 reps, that you would have to create your own brochures, business cards, etc. but both are very cost effective, new companies that do not have monthly quotas or huge start up cost. They aslo both provide free company hosted forums for training.

I hope I was able to help you in your search.

I've been with Scentsy since 2006 and have yet to do one home party or basket party.

With For Every Home (http://foreveryhome.net/belindab)you are not required to have parties only if you want to, but that is where the money is at as I've been told ;). But I do alot of online marketing and vendor tables. Going to start doing some catalog parties and lead boxes. Also we have a Club Fashion Fragrance monthly autoship but not a requirement. Our website is free no monthly fee. Any other questions please feel to pm me :).

Exactly but many people do not want to do the WORK! We live in a lazy society and the same applies to Direct Sales.

They think the internet is Santa Claus and all they have to do is get a website and the sales will come rolling in sitting behind their computor sheltered from the real world.

Won't happen.

The "real" money to be made is out with the people showing the products! ( unless one is really physically disabled in some way and they need to "master" internet marketing to create an income from home)

Soylicious now offers a website only option if you are not interested in the COTM package. It's just $10 per month after you purchase a starting kit. Kit prices start at $39 and include shipping. And with the monthly option you still get a 40% commission and discount and there are no other quotas or sales minimums to meet even if you choose to recruit. It is a really great option for those who want to do just online sales.

Senses Soy Candles does not require parties. There is no start-up kit and no down-lines. You are basically an independent wholesaler and buy the candles at 45 to 50% off whenever you want.

I don't do home parties. But I do get out there and talk to people, show my candles and work my business. I also get internet sales because I have built a webiste and marketed it and worked hard for 3+ years to grow my business.
As far as monthly fees or candle of the month commitments, there are some affiliate programs that may fit the bill. However do research first.
Most larger companies, be it candles, skin care, juice or other have a monthly autoship OR no autoship but a monthly or quartely quota. These are good things, actually, and help people have product on hand to sell or get out there and get orders. They are not there to make you go broke . Nothing wrong with commiting to something like an autoship. It shows you are serious.
And if money is an issue, I blogged "Too broke to join? " a while back on my Bella Blog. No one was as broke as me when I started!

Best wishes,

Deb

Greetings,

If you are seeking an income not tied to an auto ship or monthly requirement you'll probably want to look into affiliate marketing.

Many direct sales companies can be ran party-free via the internet! If you select this option be sure to find a mentor who has successfully marketed on the web so you can learn from someone who has done it already :)

Perhaps we can assist you better if know a bit more about what you are seeking?

Best wishes on your hunt!

I too didn't want to do home parties because of knee surgery I had recently, but there are some or should I say most candle companies are sold by smell and sell meaning people want to smell the candles before they buy as opposed to a business like AVON!

AVON is a business that has name recognition, you are able to offer customers jewelry, clothing, makeup and even licensed products like CURVES, and much more. AS a eREP I can offer a online catalog that customers can make a purchase from. Or they can request a paper catalog as well. The other excellent reason to shop Avon is the savings. I'm happy with Avon, and I was selling candles previously since 2007.

I was with Avon for about 3 yrs. Recruited three people in that time and of course they weren't really my team, my upline got the income from them. At that time, you had to have more than 5 on your team to see any money. I really never made money, and usually every month had to pay shipping to return items that one person didn't want every single order. I know there are alot of Avon reps doing well and I think that's wonderful! It's just not for me anymore.

i find candles to be a very easy sell. I have not had one returned in almost 4 years. Cant say the same about cosmetics. I used to be a MK rep.
