smileys/smiley2.gifI posted this in the "business advice" folder too, but thought you guys here might have some great info for me!
Oh boy, where to start? I'm starting to get my business up and running with my own handmade soy candles and I could really use some help on finding resources for the basics.
I need to decide on a name for my biz (guess you can't really help me on that one), I need to somehow create and make labels for the candle jars and I also need to find a place to create a logo. All this for CHEAP (or free would be better http://wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif)
So for all of those who have your own business, how did you do these things? Where are some good places to go to? Thank you for all your help! (I really need it!)

Hello Everyone smileys/smiley1.gif
This is my first time posting here in the forum. I love candles and finally decided to try my hand at making some soy candles. I ordered a kit for beginners today!
I also like to play around on the computer quite a bit and wouldn't mind trying to do some logo designs. If anyone would like me to try and make one for them to give me a little practice at it, let me know. smileys/smiley1.gif

Whatever name you pick be sure that the domain name is available - in a .com extension.
You may not want to get a website now but you should get the domain name now in case you change your mind later smileys/smiley4.gif
For lables - you can go to walmart and get some of the avery address
mailers and just pring the labels on your computer. That will probably
be the cheapest option while you're getting started.

Hi Heather:
I recently purchased this software called Publisher Pro and it's an awesome product for creating labels, flyers, business cards, etc. I would be willing to send you copies of it. PM me.

When I run out of the little clear plastic labels that I paid too much for by Staples, I am looking forward to trying this company. The pre-designs are beautiful and elegant. http://www.myownlabels.com/index.htm

Ahah! www.countryclipart.com (http://www.countryclipart.com/welcome.htm)Now I finally understand why the majority of independently owned hand poured candles companies all the like a cookie cutter same ole, same ole, web pages and design.
If anyone adores it and it makes you happy, keep it up!
Otherwise, I would have to suggest to go for a more professional looking image.
JMHO,
Peggy
