Hi, Im new here with over 15 years of retail sales and customer service experience.
I just left my job this week to stay home with my 3 daughters, and am starting to panic about not having my income anymore.

My problem is that I have 3 very noisy kids and lots of these SAH jobs require phone work, can someone give me some leads as to what type of work I can do that is legit and requires no phone work?

I am really worried here.

Yeah, phone work is almost impossible with little kids around. There are some sticky folders at the top with lots of writing jobs. Take a look at those. Plus, there is Break, Demand, Quality G, TB and others I am probably not thinking of. GL!

Hey there,

You can try to apply with Live Ops and Acd Direct. They are phone jobs but you can make your own schedule so perhaps you could schedule yourself to work when the kids are asleep.

Intelichek is a great one. you make outbound calls but it doesn't require silence so you can work that job with your kids around. They are flexible too!

QuickTate (transcribing voicemails), Cha Cha (anwsering questions), Tdec (data entry) are some non phones jobs that I do. They dont pay a whole lot but if you do it everyday, it adds up :-) HTH

welcome. you've gotten good suggestions so far w/quicktate, writing, etc. My other suggestion would be Google rating, see the thread (folder) below for more details. I posted a bookeeping job here recently, and you can find more non phone type jobs by searching here and on my blog. Best of luck 2 u, pm me if I can help further.

Writing.

There are a lot of companies that don't require you to have a lot of writing experience, if any at all. For me it's the most lucrative WAH job I have.

Do you have a room that you could set up as a home office and keep the door closed? Not sure if that's an option, but I know some people are able to do that.

You may consider buying a noise cancellation headset. "Boom" is one of the best on the market. You can also buy "Ativa" at office depot. I used and test it and the background noise was muffled.

Shutting the door is dangerous because she has three kids at home, they could get into trouble. Same thing with a noise-cancelling headset. You're still not watching the kids.

I agree with the first poster, try that writing folder. Lots of moms with young kids find that a good starting place. You can also stay up later while they are sleeping to get some work done. Then you can concentrate!

The reality is, you're not going to make what you did in retail, at least at first. Lots of us do make a good income now, but it takes juggling lots of "eggs", so to speak. (Jobs). Also try ChaCha, and quicktate.

Good luck to you, and remember, they are only young once. Enjoy the time with them and do what you can! They grow up so fast.

Without knowing the ages of the kids I can't say how dangerous letting them play on the other side of a closed door really is......

You could hire a "mother's helper" to play with the kids, less expensive than child care and you'd still be there in case of emergency

The truth is, you can make what you were making in retail from home, if you're willing to do the research, work, make (different from retail) sacrafices
