How does one become a Diamond in 1 or 2 months? I'm so amazed at that! Is that mostly from online marketing or networking thru shows?
Why does it take other people forever to become a diamond?

Some people build their business by retail only and some people choose to soley recruit... If you are into it for recruiting, you can easily become a diamond... :)

Hey Frances!
I know people do become diamonds in a short time,my sponsor did but is it mostly from spending alot on advertising online? Or getting alot of paid leads?

I have all kinds of cool friends... lawyers, judges, entertainers, teachers, engineers, architects, students, networkers, SAHMs, WAHMs, homeschoolers, artists, chefs.... lol
I just think that our Candle of the Month is very cool and I always did.smileys/smiley20.gif
I really didn't work my business for the first year. I was very busy with other things in my life. But I loved the Candle of the Month Club and just told some friends to try it out!
Btw, a very cool woman just joined my team from Connecticut!

Doreen, this is a great question--I was wondering about it myself.
I was thinking that there is NO WAY to get many people on your team
unless you have quite a bit of money to spend on advertising.
Otherwise, you would have to do it with all free classifieds (not sure
if this kind of effort would be worthwhile?), wouldn't you?
I mean, just getting people TO your website to look at your information
takes a lot of work if you don't have any paid advertising.
Those who make Diamond so quickly MUST have some sort of gift that
either I don't have, or I don't know about, because I certainly can't
imagine being able to do that in a month!
Lori, I agree, you must have some very special friends! People I know
just think it's "nice" that I have some candles for sale--they
certainly aren't interested in getting in on it. Example: my dh's
daughter rents her own chair in a hair salon--the perfect place to sell
candles--but she is not interested.
Sorry, don't mean to intrude on your thread, Doreen. I've just been wondering about the same things you asked about!

Becky - I have to agree.
I went Diamond in a three-week period by doing paid advertising on Google. Yes, it does cost, but it does work.
The best way I can imagine to reach Diamond in a month without paying is to make a serious effort EVERY DAY to show, show, show your candles. DO NOT be scared to ask people, as Charlie explained at Fling, "are you locked into what you're doing or are you open to other ways of making money?"
I used this approach, in my own words, with my daughter's daycare teacher. It worked. She wants to sign up next paycheck. YOU NEVER KNOW who may be interested. 30 "NO's" doesn't matter if you get 5 "YES"s".

One Word - Action.
I always say that the person getting the most sign ups also gets the most nos.
Talk to people every chance you get. Hand out business cards, brochures and scent samples.
Set a goal to make XX number of contacts each day. Then, set a goal to make diamond EVERY month, meaning sponsor at least 5 each month.
If anyone can do it, YOU CAN, TOO!

A wonderful trainer in my other company says, "striving to reach 100 no's will produce much more success than failurealong the way." By his 100th no, he was at the top of the company.

Hi Doreen! I made Diamond during my first month by contacting my old contacts in my "other" direct sales company I was in prior to MB. I had two signups from that... old teammates that needed a change too. Another one saw me online on a message board and asked about the business. The other two were from a team co-op (paid ads)I joined in on right away when I signed up.
I still do paid advertising once in awhile but mostly by just talking about the products and business, doing craft shows, keeping candles in a nail salon, and also internet marketing.. discussion groups, etc.
I try to make as many contacts I can a day. You will get alot more "NO's" then yes's, but that's ok. Just stay persistant and consistant and keep promoting your business to every one you meet.
Much success and many blessings,
Alison Boers

I agree, once heard someonesay that it sometimes takes 20 "NO"s before you get a yes, so everytime you get a "No" don't get discouraged, get happy and excited because only 19 more (or less)and youWILL get a yes! smileys/smiley1.gifsmileys/smiley32.gif
Thanks, Jackie - I like your "go for Diamond every month" goal. smileys/smiley1.gif

What you are all saying makes a lot of sense.
Now how do I get into the proper mindset to actually LOOK for the no's so that I can eventually get to the "yes"?
I find that a couple of no's really deflates me, and I start wondering
if I was stupid signing up for this because I am not a "salesman".
I LOVE the candles, and I CAN see the possibilities, but I just wonder if I'm not enough of the go-get-'em type... smileys/smiley19.gif

Becky, it's natural to feel that way - but trust me when I say don't let it get to you. What they are saying NO to is not you, but the product or opportunity. This is where the comfort zone comes into play. You first have to find your comfort zone and work with it until it becomes natural. Then start taking new steps outside of your comfort zone. Get those NO's out of the way and find those Yes's! I've had 5 direct face to face no's today, but that's 5 less I have to worry about smileys/smiley2.gif

I will say give it time and don't give up! It takes most of us time to build a soild biz. Don't feel bad if it does not happen overnight.

It may sound cheesy but remember the child’s tale the tortoise and the hair? “Slow and steady wind the race” I believe that if you love the candles and believe we have a great product and a great opportunity then you don’t have to be a “go get em type”
When I first started I was terrified of the phone. Well that was only a few months ago but guess what?! I make some call yesterday with out feeling nervous at all!!

Hi Becky,
When I get "no's", I do not take offense to them at all. To me they are saying "no to themselves not to me! I always thank them for there time or taking the information for me b/c you never know when they will come back to you. Just remember your "WHY" and your dreams. No one can stop you then.
It does take time put that is truly ok. You do not have to go diamond in a month. Set goals that work for you. If need be, take small steps and increase slowly!
Do not get so overwhelmed that you loose sight of what you are really trying to acheive.
Hope that helps!
Many Blessings,
NatalieEdited by: southernbg

Hi Becky~ yes it can be discouraging in the beginning. But you have to remember when people say no - it means they aren't sure what they really want for themselves. Or itmay justtake some time for them to come around. There is so much hyip out on the internet that sometimes you don't know what is goodand beneficial for you. What I find is some people don't want to spend the money to invest in their own business and that's their loss. It just means their not serious about building financial freedom for themselves. smileys/smiley5.gif
It's not a race to be diamond. Its about commitment and value to your team. It's your integrity that brings a team together. It's not who has the most recruits. There could be sponsors out there that have tons of team-members, but are they their for theirTEAM.
So just remember to work your business on a daily basis and take your time and you WILL be suprised, things will happen.
Good luck !! smileys/smiley2.gif
