Wow. This is the first one that's gotten over on me. I'm removing what I previously posted in consideration of the article and other information folks posted on one of the people involved. Something may have changed and this may be a legitimate company. But I wouldn't be involved with it right now myself.

Can you post a link to the actual job posting, that might help us be able to tell more about it. Post it and I will take a look for you.

It was sent to me from career builder but like I said I found to different websites on it here is the one the career builder sent me. The rest I had to do manually. I was going for the Admin

The website looks legitimate but I am not sure it is a telecommuting position. On the main careers page it mentions that the majority of the employees work from one of their offices. The admin position references working in a fast paced office environment but does not mention where the office is located. Also, it sounds like this company is more of a placement agency. It says the position is for a national company. Also the other position for a verification makes it sound a little sketchy. That position sounds like it is responsible for screening new hires and it pays revenue sharing. That may be completely legit but it also may be a sign that someone is making money off of recruiting others.

Also, I forgot to mention that it is really sketchy that they have that other website too. That is not typical of a legitimate business. I was going to add that on to a new not here and then did a little more research and found these things below. Sounds like a scam but also look at the last posting, it is a facebook group regarding them being a scam but there are also many people that work for them saying that basically they make money by placing ads on the applications. In other words they are not hiring anyone, other companies might be hiring but they are making money from the ads on the forms.
The Internet Company - I only interviewed here, but I can tell you that this is a scam company. I had applied for a Data Entry position here. The "interview" consisted of a computer-based questionnaire. The first page was basic competency questions - (http://www.jobvent.com/review-of-job-at-the-internet-company-R79215)

sarbare78,
You probably should stay away from this company; be careful with your personal information.
I found this information on youtube; even media informed about them. Check the following link of youtube.
YouTube - The Internet Company internet-company.com, WFTV reporting complaints about Alec Difrawi company (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjtIoWL8mhM&feature=youtube_gdata)

I just watched the youtube thing. I think that this company may have got me. I never went in for a face to face but i did a phone interview and they said they would be in contact with me then next thing I know I started getting bombarded with companies calling me about going back to school. They kept saying I signed up online which I didn't. So now I know where they got my information. That is scary... Can't even go look for a legit job nowadays!

Great just what I wanted to hear. Brooklynne sorry to hear about that. I hope they didn't get any money out of you or use your ss#. Maybe I should put fraud on my account just to be safe. Also I sent you a pm from the other day. On a brighter note I'm SO GREATFUL I found this site. Thanks to everyone on helping me stay away from scams

I did work for "The Internet Company" for a little while and I really tried but it was THE worst ever. First of all let me tell you what the job is, you post job ads to tons of different sites (they really like to use craigslist but this is actually against the CL TOS) and you get email responses from interested applicants and then you send the applicants a letter about how happy you are to hear from them and refer them to a specific link that leads to the job application. You get a lot of abuse from these people and a lot of questions you have no answers to. The way you get paid is whether the person selects "yes" or "maybe" in response to a question about furthering their education. Now as far as payment goes I still have not seen anything but, I did get an email a few weeks after terminating myself from someone in their payroll department asking me to correct my address so they could send my payment and the address they had on file was missing the apartment number. I probably made $5.00 off of 40 hours or more worth of work and still have yet to see the check. And the reason you cannot find much information about them is because they were originally called "Three Stars Media" or something like that.

It's very scary when you get scammed. I've been there too. I still have a fraud alert on my credit report just in case. Now I am so scared sometimes to apply to these online jobs. That's why I jointed WAHM so that I could atleast have some peace of mind and also find legitimate jobs from others on here who know what jobs are scams and which ones are ok.

They are taking applications through the site jobnab.com. I actually did the presentation and was planning to attend the training until I came across this thread. I already had my doubts because the job seemed a little too good to be true. I am so sorry those of you were scammed by these people. If it is not a scam and someone has made legitimate money from this site I would like to know. On the facebook page I see someone coming out and defending the company but no one is stating that they are actually making money with the position

I just wanted to let everyone know that their payroll department contacted me yet again saying my address keeps sending mail back. (Not unheard of, my postal service does it ALL the time.) So, I have now put my parent's address on there and the person who responded said they will get it out there. So, we will see when I get a call.
A couple other things I wanted to add about what I went through with them. I went through the presentation over the phone and listened to some guy speak for about an hour and some about the job and when I finally started doing the work, it was nothing he had described.
Another note, I actually applied to a job on one of their websites for a job in my area. I was confused because the job they described was for an unknown company and the description of the job did not match any companies in my area. And the job described that they needed a LOT of people. (Where I live you have 3 places to work; A call center, Wal Mart, or Safeway.) I applied for the job just to see what would happen. About a month later I got a call about it from, not the company itself but, some woman at a call center. She asked some really basic questions and a TON of questions about education and whether I would be interested in furthering it. When I said no, that basically was the end of the call. I never got info on the job, I never answered a question relating to what any employer would be interested in, I never heard from anyone again regarding it.
The site I applied on was called career network. Please be careful everyone!

I just went to their website and it says you have to interview one on one in person at their Orlando office. How did some of you get phone interviews? It says on their site no telephone interviews.

I wouldn't waste my time with them. The Internet Company is the parent company for the Jobnab website. They are "hiring" Jobscouts for their website. Basically, you will be scouring the internet and inputting jobs on the website. The "catch" is, you are only paid if people 1) apply to the job, 2) click on the education lead (that they want info on schools) and then 3) they have to answer the phone and receive information on schools." It's commission only. I did the "job scout" job for about two weeks. I listened to all of their training calls, and I input approximately 100-200+ jobs. I didn't get not one single lead. The Internet Company is benefiting more from our work (inputting jobs into their website) than they are paying people. So, my advice is unless you are a social networking guru, I wouldn't waste my time. Put that energy into an hourly gig!
Take care,
