Ok I am getting frustrated now. Worked for the first place for a few months got paid a few times and got cheesed out of the final payments. I was even threatened by the owner that he would make my life miserable if I pursued it further. Psycho
Found another wah home phone position got paid a few times fine and on time and then the last payment never came.. Tried emailing no answer, tried calling no answer. I mean really I did the work I deserve to get paid. WTH? I just wanted t make a few extra bucks dayum.
Sorry just needed to vent.

You should post the name of the companies so that people know that they don't pay Good luck.

You tell him you'll make his life miserable by reporting him to the attorney general and reporting him to the better business bureau. I got paid twice this way when I "threatened" back.
Good Luck my dear, hope everything works out for you.

Don't let them bully you. That's just not right and yes, you did the work and you should get paid. Draft a letter to the BBB and tell them that will be your first complaint. Second, tell them you intend to report them to the Attorney General in the state where they do business. If you found their advertisement for work on the internet, tell them you will be filing a complaint with the FBI's internet fraud division.
Why do people think they can get away with this? Maybe it's because they have in the past but I wouldn't let it go. When they see the name of their company on scam alerts maybe they'll think twice about trying to rip people off.

You could also post something over on:
Ripoff Report | Scams, consumer complaints, and frauds reported. (http://www.ripoffreport.com/)
Hope you get the money that is owed to you.

I had one place that wouldn't pay, so I told them if they didn't pay by X date that I would be using the articles for my own use, as I didn't consider them theirs until I was paid. I got my money the next day, after them stalling for 3 weeks.

Yes, please tell us the names of these companies so that we all know to avoid them. The last check is just as important as the first check, and we all deserve to be paid for our work. Make your life miserable? I'd file a complaint with every agency you can think of.
I worked for a electronics store that had branched down into my area. They claimed to use a draw system, which was illegal in my state. They said if the employees didn't make a certain amount that they would take what was "owed" to them out of our bank accounts. I closed my bank account that day and requested checks. The shop stayed opened for 6 months, as someone was stealing the equipment from the store and the store was not turning a real profit. Not my boss, but another manager was having an affair with two of the guys YES guys that worked there and it was just crazy. I always wondered if the shopfront was a cover for something else.
It took 8 months and 3 days exactly since the shop closed before I got my final check. I was told on the phone "hun relax" "nothing was owed to me" and that "I needed to get a life". They were so rude and nasty, but I was persistent on getting paid. I opened a BBB claim and that is how I was able to get my last check. Someone could really write a very nice story on my experiences with this company. It was just WILD! Manager having a crazy love triangle, klepto's stealing things..lol. Well, all that matters is that I got paid. Be persistent and don't take no or settle for less than what you're owed.

I ABSOLUTELY agree with everyone!! Go after your money...you worked for it, you're entitled to it. Whether it is $5 or $500, it's yours!! There are plenty of resources out there to help you recover what you earned, and to put that company in check. Just because we work from home doesn't mean that we have less recourse than the employee who works in a brick and mortar building. The fact that owner tried to scare you off further proves that he knows he's wrong and his practices are unscrupulous.
Make an example out of that company, and send a message that it's NOT okay to steal from people who work from home, and PLEASE share the names of the companies that did this to you. This forum helped me get started as a WAHM. If it wasn't for the honesty and the experiences that were shared over the years, who knows what mistakes I would have made or what companies I may have been taken advantage by.
I wish you the best in recovering your money! Even on a day when dealing with those people may seem difficult or overwhelming, think about what that money could have done for your family. That should be all of the motivation you need to see it through and get what you earned!!
