I have both a cheapo Hamilton Beach blender and a Miracle Chopper from an infomercial....I still cant blend my F8 with ice!! The blender doesnt do anything at all to the ice and can barely mash up a frozen banana. The Miracle Chopperdoes chop the ice, but not fine enough for a smoothie.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent blender? I'm not looking to spend a fortune, but just want something that works!

Thanks! Carrie

Carrie I have a brand called Osterizer- got it at walmart- was not all that expensive- have had over a year and still going strong-( I bought mine to make daiquiris for parties we had here at our house!) The feature that made me get it - you can put it in freezer for couple of hours prior to using and it freezes the stuff in it(kind of makes it an cold insulated cup) then when you actually make the daiquiries it keeps them frozed longer- not sure you would need that kind of feature for shakes unless you were doing a party like some have talked about on here featuring the f8 shakes and stuff!

I have a Kitchenaid blender and I blend ice in it all the time. I love crushed ice in my shakes! <!--

I have a Krups blender that works well for ice, as well as the Back to Basics Smoothie machine. Both work very well!

Thank you everyone! Just saw several today at Target, that Back To Basics looks pretty cool!

I have an Osterizer as well, works pretty well. Many times the box will
say it crushes ice but it really doesnt. Make sure it is at least 600
Watts if you want to crush ice.
