Really? What? You weren't doing well enough being one of the most successful DS CANDLE companies that you had to rip off Scentsy with our warmer idea??? REALLY? What a BLATANT rip off of our company.

Are they doing warmers now too? I was in PL several years ago and there were so many products then that it was hard to keep up! Don't get me wrong, I love their stuff, but I would buy something to keep in my kit and then they would DC it not too long after!

I think almost every candle company has a warmer of sorts.....

I haven't seen PartyLite's though - will have to take a look!

There are enough customers for all of us, no matter what any company offers!

We need to focus on the positive benefits of the companies we each choose to represent, and not worry about our competition.

In all reality, Partylite had melts way before Scentsy was ever born ~ so it only makes 'scents' that they'd hop on board the electric wax warmer wagon!

Electric wax warmers were popular before Scentsy, you could find them at all kinds of stores even Walmart! Yankee trademarked the term 'Wax Tarts' and they pretty much started the trend, and they have electric warmers too!

Back in the day I used to make wax melts in 6 packs before Scentsy was even a company when I owned my bath and body business. I bought electric warmers online before Scentsy was around as well...

Scentsy creators saw the 'light' and took a great idea based on the growing trend of melts/warmers and combined melts AND warmers into a party plan company platform, genius, they've been successful!

BUT they are not the inventors of the 6 pack melt or wax warmers, so no one stole Scentsy's idea :)

Remember, as business professionals, we each need to stand tall and shine brightly in order to be the lighthouse, the beacon, in which to attract our customers. If we cower, we are in the shadows, and this is not attractive to our prospects!

We ALL have amazing products, let's get out there and show the world!!!

Great post Alethea.....i just dont get some post but you put it all in perspective.
Personally, I love being able to offer both types of home frangrance options to my customers.
Sometime you feel like a wick, sometimes you dont. ;)

I just wish I could find the source for these. I know where one DS company gets their warmers and they are almost 1/2 of what they are charging their reps as a "Discount".

No offense, but obviously some people don't know what they are talking about before posting!!! :(
We need to be a little more professional and have a positive attitude! I am with Scentsy and I love my company; but I also know that there are a lot of other great companies that sell products similar to the ones we sell...its all good!!! Heck, the first melts I bought I got them for Mia Bella...lol!!! I have even tried "Scent-Chips"...

I too agree with Alethea post. There are many good companies offering plugins, warmers, etc.

I agree ladies! As a Scentsy consultant, I am almost embarassed that one of my own posted that! We all have great products and many companies offer wickless. I don't think anyone stole our idea. That's like saying all the other candle companies stole the idea of a candle that uses a flame!

Warmers and wickless candles were around before Scentsy. The only thing that Scentsy was the first to MAINSTREAM (not use, but mainstream) were the brick type clamshells. Some craft fair people were doing it, but Scentsy made it known. Yankee Candle actually holds the patent on the name Wax Tarts, which were the first marketed "wickless candle".

Take a deep breathe! Now relax and find your inner center! Things will be fine! Competition is very healthy and not something to be feared! If you know you are selling a good quality product then all you have to do is believe in yourself! Don't worry about what the other company is doing; conscentrate on what Scentsy is doing! You have the power to succeed no matter what obstacles are in your path!

Best of luck and good wishes for a bright and successful future!

Jodi :)

You know, when I was an Avon trainer, at the meetings we would learn of a "new " skin care product line.
Well, the "new "skin care was always the same as other companies. They all hop on the same trend.
For example, Clinique may come out with a new product and then it's compettion product that is almost the same is lauched by Shisiedo, Estee, Avon, etc..
Next time, Elizabeth Arden comes out with a line, then it's "followed" by the same type of cream by Olay, Avon, Mary kay, etc...
No one has an exclusive on anything really. Even a patented product has another version of it and is sold by another company.
Imitation is the sincerist form of flattery. It's also the way of the world.
And like Alethea said, there are plenty of customers to go around and MANY MANY successful companies with superb products!

I dont know why everyone gets so wound up...I just found a coveted "secret" melter that another company sells....I found it on a wholesale site....."Oh, NO....they may go out of business if I buy some"....their are plenty of customers and products for all of us.

??? You've posted this twice now but I don't know any d.s. company that has a "secret" melter since none of the direct sales companies I know of make their own melters or own. They're all purchased from wholesale companies and the more basic in appearance they are (no special designs or pictures on them), the easier it is to find one that is alike or maybe offered by the same wholesaler.

On the O.P., most candle companies are offering wax melters and some of them might even be knockoffs of the ones offered by your company, but I've seen posts on here where retailers are also selling warmers that resemble those offered by direct sales companies. I like the comparison Debra F. gave - it's a great way of putting it & Alethea you always put a positive spin on things! :)

Thier is one direct sales company that said thier melters were made for them and could not be found. I could not believe that....so I found them. Even ours can be purchased from other wholesalers....but they need to be purchased in larger quantities so I order right from my back office.
BTW....it is not Soyliclous I was referring to.

As others have said...I don't think we have anything to worry about with the PL warmers...It's kind of like mineral make-up...Bare Minerals really started it, and now EVERYONE has it! Their business hasn't been hurt at all!

Hmm...maybe you should tell the people saying that and give them the link so they know better? I'd hope no one is stating you can't find SL warmers anywhere...like I said before it'd be hard to say that unless you make your own. I know where most warmers come from China :D Sorry, couldn't help myself on that one.

Greetings Fellow Candle Lovers!

What we have to remember is the source of other company product lines has no effect on our own personal success!

We just stand tall and shine bright, be confident in the line we represent, and move onward and upward wih a smile :)

What can I say? I was PMS'ing and had a few customers that went over to the PL side. yes I know it's healthy competition. Just miffed after seeing the walmart rip off of Scentsy at my own walmart (Scentsy went to court over that) then I saw this and etc etc. I know it's how you work your business and treat your customers. Just a bad day :0(
