I am new so this may have already been brought up.

I was outside today and the sun bleached the candles FAST!smileys/smiley19.gif I would really recommend if you are outside to find away to block the sun. Either an umbrella or like I am thinking somekind of display thathas shelves that block the sun.

Hi:

Most people that do outside shows use a tent for that reason.

Yeah I know, this was a spur of the moment thing. The next show I was still able to sign up for inside. I figured you guys knew. I just didn't realize how fast they turned.

Does anyone know where you get a tent? How much do they cost.

You can get them at Wal-Mart and sporting good stores. They range from about $30 on up. Also on E-bay.

Sometimes, even with a tent they fade a bit just from so much light and indirect sunshine. I had a lilac jar last year under my tent that was no longer purple on top - it was kind of off white. It still smelled wonderful and someone bought it (I gave her a little discount). If you can find a tent with shaded sides, get that one. Thank goodness our wonderful label protects the candles somewhat too.

My suggestion is to only display a dozen or so of them and keep the rest in boxes underneath.

Another Candle consultant I know (different candle company) has to keep her inventory in the basement without any windows - even indirect light fades hers a lot. (Her company required her to buy $5000 in inventory!) That is just the way most candles are.

Thank you guys!

I didn't realize they were that cheap or I would have had one for this weekend. Then again the wind was pretty brutal and may not have worked.

Hey Snap!

Thanks for sharing a tip with us- you're never to "old" to learn something
new!smileys/smiley2.gifAnother factoid people may or may not know is that one of the
reasons our labels are opaque is to protect the candles from sunlight and
safeguard against fading. Neat, huh?

Congrats on your outside show- I hope you had a great time- every one will
be a new learning experience, and before you know it, you'll be a pro! smileys/smiley20.gif
