View Full Version : Testing Assumptions: Tip

I went out of town for a seminar, and I thought I'd share one of my Aha's with you.

Never make assumptions. OK, actually, we can't help but make assumptions or an opinion. However, be sure to test them first before walking away.

How can this be used in business? We make assumptions all the time:
--She won't host a party
--She'd never want to do this
--He won't use my services
--She already has someone who does that
--She'll think my price is to high
--She doesn't use x,y and z.
--She always shops at peanut gallary

How would you test your assumption? Ask!

How do you know if you don't ask? You don't! Often times, people will surprise you. And often times, our assumptions are wrong.

So remember, TEST YOUR ASSUMPTIONS to find out if they really are true.

If they are right, then pat yourself on the back for making a correct prediction! If not, well you may have advanced your biz!
