I couldn't leave my bed this morning until I had finished it and am having withdrawal until I can grab the 2nd one tonight and crawl into bed. I'm exhausted, since I stayed up late reading... I couldn't put it down.

I began the book on Saturday, because my husband had the boys and I had some me time! I only put it down then because I was tired.

It's a good story about courage, breaking laws for the right reasons (they were bad laws), adventure, dragons, friendships, knights, family, and even a wizard! I'd say good for Middle Schoolers and up. It doesn't sugar coat life at all for Kira and her sister, who she nicknamed Shadow. They live in a village who's rules are:
--You must marry when you are 13 (this disturbed me at first, but once I knew why it made sense)
--Girls can't be near dragons

In fact, the King didn't like girls at all.... there is a reason....

The girls are forced to run and hide as fugitives when their Mom, Dad, sister and brother are all taken by the King.
With no place to go, and being hunted for, they are forced to live on top a mountain, hiding from a fierce dragon, with only a red fox and her sister's magical gift to protect them. Will Kira be able to fullfill the prophecy? Can the wizard help them?

Highly recommend this book! Off to go read the next. ;-)
