Has anyone worked for or currently working for West at Home? They have quite a few job postings on the Job sites, I was wondering if it was legitimate, and if it was worth the cost of the background check, buying headsets etc.
I would appreciate it!!!

I just did a quick search of workathome.com: The Leading Work At Home Site on the Net (http://www.workathome.com) on the Better Business Bearue's website and they have been an accredited business since 12/01/1990 and have an A+ rating with them. So I'm assuming they're pretty trust worthy.

i worked for them when they were only paying per minute and not per hour. Didnt make any decent money. I would sit for an entire shift and get paid for maybe 2 calls. Not very lucrative. But now they pay per hour, but still not enough for me.
Easy work, and you got to pic your shifts quick, the disappear fast if it done the same way still

I've worked for them in the past the only thing was it was hard to get hours in especially when it was quite in my house. I went from contract to hourly and when it went hourly they paid min wage.

They are a legitimate company. But as people here have said, the pay is not great. Have you though about applying at ACD Direct?

Which companies pay the best right now? I have an interview with AA but all the posts I have seen say they pay around 9.00 an hr. Their website said up to 16.00 a hr for experience???
Thanks

Thanks everyone! I'm looking for one job I can make enough to stay home, or a few small jobs that will make up the same. I will keep hunting!

I worked for them for 4 years and it was a perfect part time job for me. I made between $300-$400 every 2 weeks during the school year and $600-$700 during the summer months.
This was during the times that they paid per minute.

I worked for West when they paid by the minute, the money I made wasn't bad since I picked late late shifts (midnight-2 at $22/hr avg). The biggest thing that bothered me was that, at least then, when you start off you started in "Direct Response" as your only available project, taking calls from infomercial ads that made you go through add-on sale after add-on sale, I remember feeling so bad for an old man that just agreed to every add-on to a well-known computer video learning series, that was going to charge his credit card around $500 a month later. I will say though once you can move to other projects it's not too bad.

I started on VM then went to LN but the stalking was bad couldn't get hours for nothing that is why I gave the line up just waiting for another one. but really waiting for winter to come before I really look for another line with them. But you do have to have a 2nd phone line with no features on it

I am still employed by them. As far as I know you do not have to pay for the back ground check or anything just the headset iff you want it. They are a great company to work for. The only thing I can say is if your project ends it can take forever for you to get another one. I am in that boat now! The project I was on ended and I have been waiting for over 2 months for a new one. Other than that they are pretty good!
