I am looking to start a candle business again. I have been researching the various other companies. They all have pros and cons. Can you tell me why you chose MB over the others?
Thanks for your input. My head is swimming with all the different companies, compensation plans, etc. Would just like to hear from you and your experiences.
Thanks!

Hi! For me, plain and simple it was the product. There were other aspects I was very happy about but the scent was what hooked me. I had asked people from several of the different candle companies to send me samples and their compensation plan, but I never got as far as the compensation plan, because, for me, there was no contest between the candle scents. MB blew the others away.
Of course, I'm glad that I love the company, know my upline is one of the best in the business and they have a great compensation plan. But, I think you have to love your product to share that passion with others.
If I would have liked more than one product equally, I would have then gotten into other factors, such as the company, compensation plan and potential future leader, but I never had to go there. I think you have to go with the product first and then go from there.
I'd be happy to send you a scent sample and an overview of our compensation plan if you're interested. Just send me a PM.
Good luck in your search! You will find the company that is right for you. Just take it one step at a time.

The products, the compensation plan, are major reasons I chose Mia Bella.
I wanted to buy wholesale at 50%, sell retail, and put cash in my pocket immediately.
I didn't want monthly quota's, or waiting a month for commission check.
Those are reasons so many of us are enjoying representing MiaBella, it just gets better and better, soon my team will be having one of the best marketing system and training than any other candle company.
Also we get a phenominal website, and shopping cart for free.

When I joined, it was purely because I saw the potential to build and mentor a team in a LOW cost business with a product people want.
I knew I didn't want vitamins, juices, or home furnishings . And definately not purses or jewelry. So I kept searching and searching.
So when I saw a website talking about a low fee natural candle business, I was like WOW..this sounds perfect for me.
ANd it was and still is perfect for me.
You can read my story on my blog below, latest entry and see my WHY for joining.
Hope you join us if it's right for YOU too!! :-)

Often times in life, we are presented with choices. We need to look at those choices and decide which door we will walk through. In the past 9 years, I have made lots of choices and while sometimes I think they were a bad choice...I now realize that I would not be where I am now, if I had not made choices that I did.
Here is my story...
I've been in direct sales since 2000 and love the industry. My first exposure was with a small family gourmet food. I was invited to be a partner in the company and LOVED LOVED LOVED what I was doing. I helped build the business from the ground up, was consistanly doing 6 - 10 shows a month and adding 1-2 team members. In 2007, the owner started taking the business in directions that I didn't feel were good...and decided to leave. Turned out to be a good choice since they closed in 2009.
In 2007 started with another gourmet food company and was really enjoying that too. Again, I was a successful leader and earned several awards for team building and sales. In January 2009 that company merged with a well known home party candle company. To be honest, I was not happy about that at all...I was not a candle girl...I was a food girl...and while I was able to still sell and promote my food line...it was all under the candle company name and was very confusing to my customers.
I spent many hours talking to my good friends and fellow business partners and decided that I needed to give it a try...a door had opened in front of me...I had to at least walk through and see where it lead to. For 9 months, I worked the business...with success...booking 6 - 8 shows per month, adding new team members each month. I even earned a trip to Jamacia with my husband! I discovered that people really do love high quality candles!
Even though I was having sales success, I was not happy. I was stressed out due to high leadership monthly minimums, high sales/booking pressure tatics from my leader and constantly having to buy new products for my display tables.
So I talked to my good online friend Alethea Anderson(who is also here on WAHM) and we started talking about her candle business. Since I started selling candles earlier this year, I realized there is a huge market for high quality candles and I after asking a million questions, I realized that my current candle business is really an amazing company that offers everything I want.
I am a firm beliver in choices...choices on how to run your business. Since many of us work this right alongside our families, there are months when we can spend lots of time on it, and other months when we choose to focus more on family or other activities. As a mom of 3 young children who is very involved in her community...this was important to me.
You choose how to run your business...home parties, book parties, retail sales, fairs and festivals, fundraisers, team building...it's your choice and as a leader...it's my job to support you and guide you in whatever choice you make. With this company, I can support you no matter if you just want to be a candle of the month customer or if you want to full fledge candle business. I LOVE THAT!

Greetings,
It's wonderful you are seeking a candle business once again! First I'd like to say that all the candle businesses you'll find on this forum are amazing companies. For Every Home, Gold Canyon, Mia Bella, Scentsy & Soylicious ~ I believe PartyLite is around they just are not able to use their company name online, but a great one too!
Each company has great qualities, some similarties, yet some differences. The tough part is picking the company that is the best for YOU!
First start with product, which are you most attracted to? What product can you see making a part of your daily life? Using the products, loving the products, becoming a product of the products?
Then look at the prices, are you comfortable with them?
Then compare the comp plans, each is totally unique, consider how you'd like to run your business and does that fit your lifestyle?
While doing so consider that in 4 of the 6 companies noted above there are people making tens of thousands of dollars per month, so no matter the comp plan or company, it CAN be done.
Once you find a company, then shop for a sponsor. Find someone who you resonate with, I often recommend talking to them by phone. This way you can hear them and feel their energy too to see if you are a 'fit' for a business relationship.
Overall, the difference between success and non success, is the PASSION within YOU!
I joined Mia Bella in 2004 and I love it! For me I love that Mia Bella is smaller, I can call and talk to the owners, and the candle makers. I've watched the line grow from 2 sizes of candles and 2 scents of soap bars to a full range of sizes, warmers, melts, car fresheners, hand wash, lotion, cosmetics and beyond with more new products and a NEW website coming in April!
I'd be honored to answer any questions you may have :)
