I recently applied to be an Ads Quality Rater and I received a reply email from them letting me know they received my resume but also the email contained the following:
"If you'd like to get immediately involved and help form Google's new products
and features, we encourage you to visit Google Labs. This site showcases a few
of our favorite ideas that are not quite ready for prime time! We invite you to
play with the prototypes and send your suggestions directly to the Googlers who
developed them."
Would doing that help in getting hired? Did any of you send your suggestions without getting paid for it?
Thanks in advance for your responses?

Unfortunately, that information that they send back to you regarding Google Labs after they receive your resume has nothing to do with getting hired. I think they are just trying to let people know about other services that they offer and that's it.
