Just for fun!
How long have you been in direct sales?
Count me in for 26 years! (11 with my current company)
The day I turned 18 I signed up and started selling!
How about you?

Avon, Missy.
I literally played "Avon Lady" when I was kid. My mom's rep outfitted me one birthday with the case, all the samples, old catalogues, order booklets etc. She had no idea she ended up setting me on the path I earn my living from today!
Thanks for asking, Missy!

Nearly 8 years, here.
I started my main MLM business when I left high school, built it up for over 7 years (mostly in the UK) and sold it last November - but I still have another downline of the same business in another country in Eastern Europe too (not part of the sale), which I started a couple of years ago, and am now building that one, which means going there for 5 or 6 days nearly once a month.

Isn't it nice when you've found your "home" Amy?
Very cool, Yuliya! Congrats on building and selling that business last fall.
It's neat reading all the different stories. Thanks!

10 years.
2 mos with current company.
I was ROTFL at this! I used to help my mom hang AVON catalogs on doors in her territory when I was young. So funny. Wonder if she knows it's her who gave me the love for entrepreneurship??

Seven years for me and of course like others I started off as an Avon lady. I watched my moms Avon lady deliver products and get cash so it was a no brainer!

Only two years myself. What would be interesting to hear is how the business has changed for you long-lived consultants (you go girls) is how the business had changed with the internet. We are required to enter everything online...I would guess you gals used to mail in your orders---how have the mighty computer and internet changed how you do business.

Yes, it has changed! I think when I first joined a company in 2001, obviously not as long as some of the others, online ordering was just coming into play for some companies. It hadn't hit mine. We had to take an order summary form and fax or mail it to corporate office with the checks for payment. I kept no money upfront, but received a commission check. That company closed and then the next two I joined (which also closed, one after 5 years, one after 25) also hadn't progressed to online ordering yet.
It's cool now, isn't it? At times you log into your email and there's a sale you weren't expecting, all due to technology!

When I began in TS I called or faxed my orders in. Yes, everything is centered on the "web" now. Huge changes, especially since my very early days in the business. I called or mailed everything in back then. Thanks for making me think back, Christy! :-)

Well, I got involved with MLM almost right out of high school. Amway was my first experience where I caught the residual income buzz. So, that was, gosh, makes me feel old, but about 25 years ago. I dabbled in MLM over the years with a couple other companies, one, that we were serious about and had success with. I never had any interest in DS / party plan until Gold Canyon came along. I've now been with them for a little over 2.5 years and love it!

Wow...congrats to all of you!
I've been with Send Out Cards for about 2.5 years, but we just introduced our party plan model in October...so I'm a newbie when it comes to that side of it.

24 years for me - and yes, everything was through the mail.
I still remember when the internet hit - and all of us trying to figure out how to best use this new thing - trying to dial up and it taking half the day.
Goodness, how far we have come! :)
