I just started taking calls last week and I am having such a hard time with it. I'm always having to call PAL and get assistance. Part of it is that I'm a hands on learner and reading the training modules just didn't cut it for me.The other part is I have absolutely no love for the line I'm assigned to. Am I stuck with this or can I train for a different line? If there's a line you'd really like to work on, can you ask????

I am not sure if West changed it or not...From what I know when I was on the VM line, you were stuck with what they give you...Until you get an invite ( which will show up in your mess. news on ur log in page ) you are stuck with what you are on...You can't request a new line...Sorry

I would be happy if they would just re-hire me...been waiting 4-ever, since my info got messed up in the system some how and I had to re-apply...I have about 2 times now...I miss working for them...So I would stick it out and don't be ashamed about calling a pal all the time I did too at first b/c I am the same type of learner...Keep ur head up...you will catch on it just takes time...Good luck!!!:D

I just resigned from this skill. Hopefully they will reassign me to something I can understand better. Another reason I resigned from this skill is that they hold daily conference calls during the day to discuss problems we're having, etc., and I cannot attend any of those during the day. They aren't offering any eveniing hours for this skill either, which means I have to only work on weekends. Too much hassle. Hopefully they'll give me something different.

Bold move ! Unfortunately, you want be assigned or reassigned ANYTHING. Once you resigned your done period. You will have to reapply like a new applicant. I wish you would of waited, I could of given you a better course of action. Good luck with your furture plans.

They will assign you a new skill! Unfortunatly it can take months and sometimes (rarely) it never happens. Resigning West and reaplying is not always a good idea either. Some people reapply and get hired only to sit and wait for a skill. I resigned my last skill about a month ago and was offered a new line last night. It's different for everyone so hang in there! Just know that every skill is going to be hard in the beginning there is no substitute for hands on training. The webinars they have us take and the modules you watch just eventually fall short and you have to jump in there, take calls, and fail alot to figure out what your doing. Good luck!

That's awesome you got assigned another skill ! However, during the intoduction to West At Home they explained to me/us thouroughly about the "resign" button on the West Employee website. They explained to everyone that we all needed to be sure that is what we wanted to do because once you resign you will not be offered a new skill and you will have to reapply like a new applicant and of course wait for a skill to be offered and even still you could be offered the same skill you were on or wait forever (smile) for something new. ;)

Thanks for the congrats on my new skill! I hope it's easier than my last skill but wish the pay was as good. Sounds like the bud that gave your welcome interview was misinformed. It's ashame how often that happens. I've known several people who resigned one skill and got another, although I read storied around the boards that people sometimes wait for months or even a year to get a new skill so I agree that hitting that resign button is not a step to take lightly. I enjoyed my last skill a lot, and loved the pay on that skill, but couldn't make the minimum requirements so resigned after receiving a few pins for not working the minimum hours before I was terminated. I knew there was no way they'd give me another one if I got terminated from a skill. I am so lucky I didn't have to wait very long.
