Let me first start off by saying "HI!". I am a new IC, just signed up in January. I just launched my business last Saturday, at a Vedor showcase, where I sold some cash and carry, andgot 2 orders from the samples I handed out (no parties though). I have an Open House scheduled for the last week of March, and LOTS and LOTS of interest. I am LOVING these products as they really seem to sell themselves if you can get people to try them. I still have so much to learn, I need to do the L&B's, go through the AU, and read, read, read here! I have been doing some reading, and love all the advice and support you give one another.

So, my question is, I have on order a full set of theRe line to hand out for 1 week trials, what do you all use for the Night cream? Do you use little plastic containers? And where did you find them?

Thanks for the help and I am looking forward to catching up on reading and getting to know everyone!

We are not supposed to tamper with the products, and repackaging is prohibited.

I know what you are saying, but Arbonne does not support this practice. That is what the samples are used for.

If you really want an honest opinion though, you should contact your upline about this topic.

Christy - no worries. You didn't mess up. You are only asking about something that seems to be common practice amongst many consultants. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about passing the night creme around because of the contamination factor - I'm hoping for some individual night creme samples to come out soon. Not sure if that will happen - but it would be nice! You could use the night creme sample from the RE9 sample line - but then you'd have an incomplete set (you know what I'm referring to? The RE9 sample strip...) I wrestle with this one somewhat - but my point in posting is to let you know you're not alone in this debate.

BTW - congratulations on starting your business. It sounds like you are off to an incredible start! A trade show in your first couple of months is huge and you should be proud of yourself! Way to go!

Christy- you will find a wealth of info here- I know I actually have changed the way I do my demo system due to info I have gotten on here and find I really like the way I do it better now!

I still give out the full set except the night cream-I also put in the sample pack of RE system as well as Re masque and scrub set-at drop off I tell them if they are not sure how much actually to use- ( i tell them to use an amount close to the size of a english pea to pea- size) then use the full sized bottle since it is a metered pump to see how much comes out with one pump - so far everyone likes that - the ability to "see" how much to use- then they use the sample pack during their trial....this seems to work for me-

ETA- if all of my demo kits with full size sets are out- I then take one of my bottles and show them on my hand how much to use- then just give them the sample pack by itself!

Good luck in this biz- Edited by: leahjstan

Ask your NVP what to do. We had something similar come up in our
successline, and received an email from Stian informing us that it is
against A***** policy to lend out used sets, even if you don't include
the night cream because once it has left our hands, we have no way to
guarantee the integrity of the product. He specifically said that
we have samples for the purpose of having products for people to try.

This being said, I know there are tons of people that don't agree with
this, either because they know the policy and disagree with it or
because they don't believe this is policy. So, like I said...it's
best to ask your NVP. Ask a direct question and she'll give you
the info.

I wanted to clarify my post earlier- I am giving them the sample packs (which are so nicely packaged)to use for their use- the full sized sets I keep in therefor them to see actual size and to see how much should be used for each product-- my upline thinks I am nuts for giving them the samples and spending my money on them- but I think it is the best way to go for me-

Leah, you do what you think is right. YOur upline may think you are nuts, but you can get a heck of a lot more samples for the price of a demo set, it just doesn't count towards volume. I have not used the demo sets for a variety of reasons and just budget in $150 to get samples every few months (my team and I share to get the price break) and then I can get samples to a lot more people than I can get a demo set to.

I have 4 kids and homeschool, so I cannot do follow up appointments on a timely basis so the demo sets don't work for me. I don't want to worry about a $266 kit at someone's house that I have to try to get back in three days. It stressed me out. Before the Results approach was around, I had great luck with samples, and I still have great luck with samples. I personally would never have been able to invest in a few sets, it would have turned me off to the company. I just do it the way I am comfortable and it works out fine.

See Anet you and I think alike! I had already invested in the 4 kits so obviously want to use them for something- so they are my show and tell-- but like you I have been getting great response just from the samples- esp when they are able to see what the real stuff would look like-- I have started going in with 2 other girls- who are not from my upline and each month we pick something to buy in bulk-until we get enough to last- last month we did the baby line and this month we are doing the mens line- really helps on the price cuts!

I was also able to salvage a new BB who wanted to join but my upline basically told her she needed the 4 minimum or 6-8 kits to really do this biz- she ordered some samples and is going slow but she is getting them out there and I think she will over time get going strong!

You go girl for homeschooling your 4 kids!! My hats off to you!

Thanks, Leah. I know the results approach is very successful for those who follow the system, but luckily the system can be used with samples, too.

About my kids, only two are homeschool age right now, and they are twins, so they do the same curriculum. I have a 4 year old and 21 month old, too. It is a juggling act for sure!

Thanks for all the responses and clearing this up for me. I have been giving out samples to tons of people, but I guess I thought some might like to try it longer than the 3 days you get out of the samples. (I suppose Icould give them 2 samplepacks then in those cases. smileys/smiley2.gif) I invested in just one full size set figuring that worst case I will need it for product demonstration if and when I get my first party. I guess for now I will keep handing out the samples and talk further with my upline to see what the best approach is.

Thanks everyone! Off to do some more reading and learning!

christy- fyi- I get back with everyone within 3 days - so unless you just want to give out addt samples- I find most have made their mind up by then about the product- also- most do get 3-5 days out of the sample packs esp if they know how much to use and dont use too much!

See, I think that was my problem when I first tried the sample. I didn't know how much to use, and used it all within 3 days (or less even). But I like your approach too, of having the full size available, and being able to show them just how much to use so that their samples last longer.

Christy - I wasnt about to let the 4 kits I used go to waste b/c I had decided to go the sample route- so thought this would make them useful!!! Now I got another great idea from someone on this board when we were talking about this - so whoever you are sorry I cant remember or I would give you credit! Maybe Bridget or Cindi?- buy the gold totes $10 each- place your samples, info etc in there- this way you will for sure get back with the person to get your tote back! I ordered 2 of these to use when my other bags were out and plan to get several more- this creates a nice little package for them to see and a reason to make sure you dont slip upand forget to get back with them in a timely manner! $10 bucks for the bag is too much too lose impo!
