I'm getting frustrated =( I've poured through all the forums, I've searched craigs;ist for hours upon end. I've even joined a temp agency. I just can't seem to get a break and find a job! I'm not looking to break the bank with my paychecks, I just need $500+ to supplement the hubby's income! Any ideas ladies and gentlemen!? I don't want to do Surveys, and I already answer texts but I can't keep interested long enough to make any money =( Any help or pointers would be amazing thanks!

Do you like to write articles? There are a couple of sites I write for that are hiring freelance writers. Demand Studios and Break Studios. Demand Studios pays $5 to $15 per article and Break Studios pays $8 per article. You need a resume and writing samples for both places. Demand Studios pays twice a week and Break Studios pays every two weeks. The links are below to apply.

Freelance Jobs | Demand Studios (http://www.demandstudios.com)
Funny Videos, Clips & Funny Pictures | Break.com (http://www.breakstudios.break.com)

I hope this helps. Good luck! :)

I just wanted to say that I'm right there with you in frustration. I have been looking for a part time job that makes an hourly wage since 2008. I am already working 25 hr/wk for text services. I've applied to several different positions and actually got a break a few months ago when I got into some training, got my hopes up, but did not make the cut. Now I'm also trying to finish a course to become a medical transcriptionist. I only need to make around $800 per month to supplement my hubby's income as well and can't seem to get a break either. Not interested in telemarketing or sales. Coud probably do customer service work but my phone is magicjack and have no landline at the moment. Also, ads on craigslist just don't seem legitimate.

I've been looking for part time work at local hotels, but when I seen a wage of $5.95 I almost fell out of my chair and did not even bother to apply. Thought to myself how can they get away with this? And they expect you to split tips too.

So I'm asking the same thing, basically what are we doing wrong and are there any companies that are hiring where you are not an independent contractor and can make at least $1000, it doesn't even have to have benefits at this point. A job is a job, any job! I've even looked into adult texting service, believe it or not... they aren't paying that great either!

I totally hear you on the texting jobs! I seriously can't work for enough hours it takes to make like $600 a month thats almost 10 hours a day for all 30+ days of the month! Unless you work over nights but I can't because of having a baby! I wouldn't even care if it was an IC job! I just need 500 or 600 extra a month! i mean my boyfriend makes a good chunk of money but since he got a new job his ex is now legally going after him for child support even though she hasn't for two years now (funny right? he makes a lot of money and NOW she tries.. can we say gold digger?! lol) but anyways... I don't want to "rent" our spare bedroom out we already have our friend renting off us but hes moving soon and I don't want a stranger here so I need anything at this point =( I seriously feel like giving up!

It can be done, I've hit >$20 in an hour with texting before. That said, not lately traffic isn't there. Even average though at the current lower exchange rate between the British Pound and the US dollar I could hit $12 / hour or so if the traffic was there.

Omg the best i've ever done was 10 an hour but lately it's been like 2 an hour! How in the world do you make that much?! We can't be working for the same company!

Nope couldn't be, nowadays can't even get $2/day...

Just depends on how many you answer. In my case the company pays (or did when there was actually messages) .05p per message.

Don't give up, I know it's tough out there, but I'm seeing more WAH jobs. If you can do phone work CSR usually pays $8-10 more if your bilingual. TSR can be little higher if you're very experienced. If you have an outgoing personality try one of the sales postions, were you can make extra with the upsells. Other's here have mentioned writing. Just hang in there and keep applying. If you let me know your specific skills I'll try to help more.

There are a lot of options out there, and a lot of ways to go about getting setup... Patience however is key. I searched for a job for over a year before I completely gave up on finding on in or out of the home. I decided that I'd just do whatever I could to earn a little cash here and there, whether it was surveys, gpts or writing.

Now a few months later I'm consistently making $1000+ a month, although this month was slow for a variety of reasons and I only made around $600.

I know you mentioned not like IC work, but IC/Self Employed work really can be a lucrative option. Most of my income comes from writing and virtual assistant activities that I do for clients that I've found online through forums, freelance websites and other means.

You have to keep an open mind when you need to work from home or you'll close a lot of doors in your own face.

I have to agree with modern good post

If you can't find a work at home job that you can do there are so many different options that you can do. One option is freelance writing they have tons of writing companies you can write for. If you want to get started making money right away you can try ac or text broker some of the higher paying companies are demand studio, wise greek, and bright hub, about.com and many other ones.

Freelance sites is another option you can go feel out a free profile at odesk.com or getafreelancer they have tons of jobs to apply for. It something there I am sure you will be able to do for instant someone might need you to setup a account or social bookmarking, or even appointment setting. Its so many different range of jobs on freelance sites and you can make some money.

The point is there is always options out there if you cant find a company to work for start doing your own thing you can start a blog start writing a ebook or whatever you want to do. It does take patience but there are always options available. I am not sure if you are looking for a phone job or not. Good luck

I am feeling the same frustration. I am seeing posts on here where people are making good money on TrekPay, MyLot, MTurk, IMReportcard, ShortTask, etc and I have signed up for them all and it takes forever to make a few dollars. I really must be missing something here. I click on signature lines also to see if its something I'd be interested in. I write for Associated Content and I'm ok at writing but really don't have a background in it. I also have MagicJack on my phone line, so I am limited on some avenues. My husband and I are self-employed so I'm not afraid of being considered IC, our work has been terribly slow due to the economy and I'm trying to help out by doing online work. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I understand your frustration too. I too have been looking for a PT job since 2008 and have applied for jobs that I am fully qualified for but can't seem to get anything. I'm beginning to get scared because our savings have dwindled so much we only have enough for 2 house payments. We just need to hang in there and pray and trust that God will provide.
