View Full Version : Frustrated

Hello everyone,
This is mainly a vent. I started this business last month. I still have my full time job, but want out VERY badly. I bought the four kits to pass around. One of them that I wanted to be a BB wasn't interested. The second one wanted to know how much she owed me.

I don't want to seem pushy, but I would like for stuff to start happening.

Hi,

Frustration can definitely be part of this but consider this....you JUST started. Different people go at different rates for different reasons. I always tell my folks to be persistent and consistent. Just keep at it. Just because you have a series of setbacks and/or disappointments doesn't mean that this won't work for you.

Without delving into your personal situation, there could be various reasons for why things aren't "happening" yet. Many are outside your control.

I would encourage you to get with your sponsor and another member of your upline. Share your frustration with them and ask them for guidance for your business.

Good luck and hang in there.

I would get plugged into Arbonne training calls and would highly recommend free training from Dani Johnson. She's a motivational speaker for network marketing and she's helped me turn my business around. If you go to her site, there are 100's of hours of training calls.

I highly recommend the March 13, 2006 call - its geared towards newcomers.

Oh my gosh can I say I am right there with you. But I have come to the conclusion that the ones I thought would want this don't and the ones I never guessed in my wildest dreams do. Give it some time and just keep doing the do and you will find the right BB's for your team.

I agree, keep up with the training, take as much as you can get. It will only help you.

We are all here to listen to one another whether it be venting or not. What a great support network we have going.

I have to echo everyone else. Don't be so hard on yourself! This is a business & it is going to take time. You want a solid foundation & that does not happen overnight.

The trainings everyone have suggested are fabulous. (I love Dani) They are important, as well as hooking into conference calls, because it will help build your belief for when times get rough. It will build your belief int he NWM industry, the company & yourself. Also, Ines is right, talk to your upline. They have been there & can help.

I know it's hard not to compare ourselves to others in this business. We hear about all these success stories who move fast. But it's not always going to happen that way, there are things that you just can't control. It helps to focus on things you can control, like activity, instead of the huge goal of being a VP.Consistant activity will help your momentum. You are going to hear no's but you will also hear yes's. Once you get into momentum it really starts snowballing. Keep the activity up & before you know it you are reaching your goals.

Remember, the VP's are VP's b/c they've had a lot more rejection than any of the rest of us. They have heard the word no more than you can count. The only differencebetween them & those who don't make it is that they don't quit.

There is a training DVD by Cecilia Stoll called Being a District Making Machine. I am paraphasing her here but one of the things she says in it it to put the blinders on and just get into activity and be consistent. She says, if I told you it would take 500 activities (drop-off, pick-ups, 1-1 mtgs, parties, etc. - whatever system you are using) to get to RVP, you would make a list and start checking them off. If you get a No or whatever, just tell yourself "Activity 487 done, Next", and keep moving on with the countdown.

This has helped me when I have a bad day, I just say 'Next' and keep moving on down my list. This is a numbers game and the more activities you do, the greater odds for your success.

If anyone is interested, the DVD is a bonus item when you order the 7 Steps Presentation DVD in the business aids section. It is $8.00 and I bought it for the bonus DVD instead of the 7 steps.

Thanks JoAnn!!

It sounds like a very valuable tool with great info! That is such a good way to look at building this business, you do have to put yourself out there, expect rejection, and STAY POSITIVE!

I did the same thing! I think the Cecilia Stoll DVD is waaaay better than the 7 steps. I loved how she said she wants us to have a McDonald's drive thru mentality. The guy who says "Do you want fries with that?" and then when people say "no thank you" he doesn't QUIT and say "I quit...nobody likes my fries" smileys/smiley36.gifHe just says "OK, Next?"

That DVD is an EXCELLENT tool! Even my dh watched it (even though he said he wouldn't LOL)

agreen96,

It can be frustrating but don't give up. I feel like I get a lot of no's but looking back, I've also gotten a lot of yes's. The BB's will come. I've been selling since November, made DM in January and still haven't got a BB. I don't know if you pray or not but if you do, I can tell you that will help the most.

November I had 2 parties. The first one was a fundraiser and had a decent turnout but I got no classes, no bb's or wholesale buyers. The second party 30 people were invited and 2 showed up. Still no wholesale buyers or BB's. The third class I had on the 1st of December. One person showed up (again 30 people were invited) and she didn't buy anything. Like you I was starting to get frustrated. I don't know that many people, am not close to my neighbors but approached them anyway. After the class disaster I really started praying and realized I cannot be in control of this situation. All I can do is present the products and go from there. I had a great December and a pretty good January. February stunk. Somewhere in there I forgot I wasn't in control and tried to do everything myself again. I cried for 3 days and I almost quit in February. I had people that I had been working with and given samples to and driven miles to give them information and then their sister or friend started selling it and so they went with them.I was so frustrated even though that is what happens sometimes. I had a ton of no's, had no classes anddid not make my 2500 in February.

About the last few days, I decided I could only keep doing this with God's help. He brought my husband and me into this for whatever reason and He will see us through it. So many others are successful quick but a lot aren't successful quick either. We just don't hear those stories very much. Now that I've finally taken the pressure off of me and what I want and just focus on letting people know what a great product we have and what a great business we have and let them choose it has become fun again. I'm not saying I don't have no's and don't have discouraging days but it's not on me anymore. I can't help what people choose to do. I pray before I approach people and I've been praying for a good business builder that will stick with it. We are having a biz opp Saturday night with a couple that is interested. They may not choose to sell but if not, I know that's not who God has for me and that He has someone even better and I have to be patient. This whole Arbonne thing is a growing experience. I don't know if I will make my 2500 this month either but all I can do is keep going and keep in activity and pray.

I don't know if anything I said will help you or not but I just want to encourage you not to quit.Your time will come and if you quit you will miss out on one of the best opportunities you've ever been given!! If you have any questions, feel free to pm me.

Hi,

I also started last month and so far, I'm my biggest customer. smileys/smiley5.gif I have such high hopes but when you look on paper I really haven't accomplished anything so far. So I totally understand how you feel, I am very frustrated too.

One thing I learned is to not 'throw up' on people with all sorts of Arbonne info. A confused mind says "no." Keeping it simple truly is the best approach. For example, I had my hair dresser in mind as a bb. So tonight at my appt, I started telling her about the company and my "why". She seemed interested so I continued on a little too much. So I told myself "STOP", too much is too much. I intentionally changed the subject when I felt myself going overboard. You know what? She would re-introduce the topic! This happened 3 or 4 times! Obviously she's interested although she didn't outright admit it. I kept my cool and gave her some samples and a catalog; I told her to call me if she wanted to see all the makeup in person. I left it at that. We bothknow I'll be back in a couple weeks (to cover up my nasty grey hair LOL) so I'm giving her room to think about it. If she is interested in purchasing products, becoming a consultant, or becoming a bb, GREAT! If not, move on. Maybe she'll need6 months to decide (like when I drive up to my appt in my Mercedes). The ball is in her court and there's nothing else I can do besides work on my next contact.

Now, if I could remember these positive things when I'm doing a cold call I'd be in good shape. LOL!

GOOD LUCK to both of us! smileys/smiley1.gif
