Hi Ladies! smileys/smiley1.gifMy name is Megan and I just signed up. I'm not really sure what to do now, how to get bookings, etc. Any advice? I'm living in California and will be moving to South Dakota this summer, so I'll be starting over again out there! Thanks so much!

Welcome to BC! I would start with friends and family first. That's what I did! Your business will take off from there.

Welcome Megan!
You will always find great advise and support in this board!
First, Pamper yourself with your kit. Use everything everyday! Invite friends and family to join you for an hour of pampering. Ask for bookings! People that knows you will help only if you ask!
Second, learn about the product and create a 30 second commercial to use every time you come in contact with people.
Third, as you build confidence and product knowledge, visit your local employer such as personal doctors, banks and salons and offer employee appreciation mini Spa during lunch or after work. This a great way to offer your services for future bookings.
When you get to South Dakota, join the chamber of commerce, local health club and meet your neighbors.
Keep focus on your "why" you joined this business, be consistent and never quit!
Good luck and welcome!!!

Hi Megan!
I just wanted to say hello and welcome to BeautiControl and Wahm! This board is full of wonderful ladies with terrific ideas and helpful hints.
Like Jessica, I started with family and friends. The bookings from those spas will lead into others.

Itzy pretty much summed it up! There are a couple of us who have moved since starting the business. Consistency is the key!
We are all very encouraging and supportive, so don't hesitate to ask questions!

This is such a helpful post, and Itzy's tips are wonderful! I am finding myself with too much down time between spas due to reschedules, and I am looking for ideas on getting more bookings. Have you had success with doctor's offices? Other ideas of places to offer staff/customer appreciation?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Angela,
Welcome to our message board! Where in TX are you? I used to live in McKinney in the Dallas area. My unit is in the Dallas area, but my Director lives in Houston. I now live in IL.
Just thought I would say Howdy!

Hi Angela and welcome to Wahm!
Doctor's offices are great places to have appreciation spas. The staff is usually overwhelm with work and Doctors are very thankful.
Don't forget to stop by Vet clinics they also love the pampering. Specially the hand treatment. Government offices are great too.
It is all up to us to go out there and offer the services and not allow anything to stop us.
Good luck,

Those are great ideas! When you call on these businesses, do you bring anything to leave with them? Do you take samples, a product, just product guides? I don't want to spend too much, but if it helps it is worth it! How do you approach a doctor's office, for example? Would you ask to speak to the office manager, or ask of the receptionist:'who should I speak to about pampering your staff?'. I know I will be using those flip cards! Luck thing I have about 4 sets of them! Never thought of them as so useful before!smileys/smiley32.gif
Sorry to ask so many questions, but it helps to hear what has worked for others.
Thanks!

I always ask to speak to the person in charge (The doctor or manager on duty). I only bring a flier and my card. I don't show them a product guide because it would look like I'm selling. If is possible, I let them sample the show of hands and Extreme repair. I focus on making the manager feel like a hero by hosting a Spa for his/her staff. I always address the importance of helping others relax and de-stress and the positive impact that offers. Making it all about them is the best approach. If they are not interested, I move on to someone who will take the opportunity and run with it!
Try to visit the doctors and offices you have visited in the past. If they seen you before, they'll be receptive. If you a client, even better because they know you and will trust you. If it is new office, be professional, smile and present yourcomplementary services in a timely matter.
Good luck,

I mentioned the flip cards on my weekly conference call last week. It was surprising to me that some Directors (shall remain nameless) are not using these at their spa parties.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif That was a surprise to me! They will be using them now when I told them the cornflakes, raisins and grapes picture is on one of the cards. We used to bring the real thing to our parties!
It is great that you have a set for your purse and one to use at your parties!
Do you have the Spa Works workbook? I am not sure if it is still available to order, but that is a great tool to use for businesses! Ask your Director or recruiter if she has one for you to look at or borrow. It has a CD in it.
