Trying to get up and running quickly...Which autoresponder do you use?
(A free one to start out with would fit my budget best, lol.)
Thank you!

Becky-
Be careful with the free ones- they place an advertisement (for OTHER
products and services) at the top of each message you send out- so your
prospects may wind up deleting your messages as spam without even
reading your content!
There are some good ones out there, but you do get what you pay for.
You can start for as low as $15 - $35 per month. Do you need a
business website, domain registration, and web hosting as well, or just
the auto responder?Do you need just one message auto response, or
multiple messages? For one email account or multiple accounts?
Let me know what your needs are and I can help you find some options.
Feel free to PM me and take this off-forum if you want.

Thank you all for such quick replies.
Seeing that I am SO new at this, do I actually even NEED to be worried about an autoresponder right now?
I've only got the barest of barebones info on my website, and am
steadily tweaking, changing, trying to improve it. I don't even have
much traffic yet, so I can certainly respond to people manually right
now.
Do you think this is something I can put on the back burner for awhile, until I'm getting regular traffic?

Hi Becky,
What are your goals, and which aspects of the business do you want to
focus on? Work closely with your sponsor, and follow your Roadmap-
this will give you the best steps to follow while you are starting out so
that you don't spin in circles with your excitement. You can definitely
start successfully without an autoresponder in the beginning, even as
your prospects come in.
Write your goals and your action plan and then follow the plan. Right
now spend as much time as you can reading your Roadmap, listening to
the training calls, making your scent samples, CD-Rom packets, and
handing out your brochures and business cards to everyone that you can.
Get the word out and get people interested and excited- the rest will fall
in place as you work your way through the steps!
Enjoy the process!

Yes I definetly agree with Kitt. It can be overwhelming in the beginning and you don't want to go so fast that you go crazy.
Get used to the business and once you start feeling good about it or get a few people then you can pursue that. I think working with your own email and sending out follow up letters would be just fine for now. Using the splashpro is a good lead source. When someone signs up through that page- they will automatically get letters and you don't have to do nothing. Thats the good thing about that. But you have to advertise it.
I think the key is advertising your business to get leads. I advertise my website and my splash page and it can become costly. I spend at least 100 a week just on google and yahoo alone. That's not all the rest of the sites I'm listed with. However you do it is up to you.
Work one step at a time and you will see how it will come altogether and set your goals that you want to achieve. If you have any other questions feel free to ask smileys/smiley1.gif

Thank you, Kitt and Christina. This is helpful info.
The reason I started with website first is because I LOVE the Internet, and practically live on it, lol.
Internet is going to be my number one focus, with fundraisers my second.
I think I'll do as you suggested and just reply with a manual e-mail right now. I can branch out later, once I get busier.

I know when it get's too busy to answer I may end up getting one, but for me personally, I hate when people send me autoresponders.(Unless you are in some sort of an e-course or e-training or something.) I like personality and personal contact. So for now I answer each request and personalize each one.
Yes, it may take a bit more time on my part, but my team mates, and leadsare worth it smileys/smiley1.gif

Debra, the personal touch is certainly something to think about. I
guess I'm worried about looking "professional" enough, but you have a
good point about responding personally to each person.
Thank you for giving me this extra food for thought on the matter.

Hi Becky,
I also think the personal touch is very important! I was looking into autoresponsers like you are but decided that it would be nicer to to continue as I have been doing.
Once I have gotten to the point of not being able to get to everyone at one time, then I will consider it again!
I wish you luck with your new business! You are off to a wonderful start!
Many Blessings,
Natalie
PS, I love your site! The colors are great!
