I don't do parties anymore so I may be a little rusty on some things but this one I can answer! You have to ask, & it's not a big deal. They know you are there to sell products & expect you to ask. Set up a spot a little away from where they'll be sitting & shopping. Ask if someone needs to be leaving & they can go first. Then just start calling by name, asking if they are ready when you see them just sitting there.

Do you have a good script? If not, you can ask your upline, if
they do shows, or I would be happy to send you mine. I originally
thought it would be more natural for me to just "wing it." It was
a disaster!!!
Let me know if you are interested.

Reading this a funny thing popped into my head- about 5 months ago went to a party at a friends house and at the end the lady used the computer room off the living room and she started by saying who's first? then when they were finished she came out and said who's next- gosh I felt like I was in a waiting room or something! I actually giggled each time she said it! Sorry that was way off the topic! I was having postist- hadnt posted in like seems like forever! So just had to post!smileys/smiley4.gif

I think going to other parties is a good way toboth learn what to doAND what NOT to do! I know that what I usually like best at parties is getting a little gift.
What I don't like at some parties is not having enough product info or products to see hands on. Also, ones that go on and on and on!! I want to hear a welcome, hear about the best products/the consultants personal favorites, and some great specials. AND even though I tend to think games are a little corny at showers, I do like a game or two at a party to win products!

I hear ya on the long shows! Our presentations are 45 min.
If we can get started on time, people are doing their "shopping" within
an hour of arriving. Encourages more people to be hostesses as
well.
I play tons of games at my shows and give lots of little gifts. Makes them so much fun.

Beverly, what kind of games do you play? The only one our team uses is the Left/Right game.

We play a version of the left/right where they pass the items when the word A****** is spoken.
We play the choc kiss game sometimes, where you get a choc kiss for
each question you ask about a product and 3 for each you ask about the
business. The one with the most candy (or wrappers) at the end of
the game gets a free gift.
We play a Purse Game, where people find things from their purse. We use this to explain the A****** Difference.
We have a ton of them. If you've ever been to a baby shower,
think of the games you played, then adapt them to A******. They
are lots of fun.
