I've noticed that several have amazing splash pages (I think that's what they're called). For those who do, does this make a difference?

For those who don't, what do you do to maximze your presence on the internet? As far as I know our company does not have any type of distributor look-up or anything like so what drives people to your site?

Do many of you get much business on your site?

Would love to hear what is working for you.

Melissa

Hi Melissa,

It all depends on how you want to market yourself and your business. For me, I love using the internet. I love being able to market my products and business all over the USA at all hours.

Since I do 90% of my business online, a personal website is very important. It helps my customers connect to me. I can't tell you how many people I have sponsored over the years because of the relationships I have developed. I've had people join my team "Because they trust me!"

By having my own website, I can capture leads and create that personal relationship. If I only used our company site (which I love) the only way I can capture a lead is if they happen to enter the free drawing. When people request more information from me via my website, I KNOW they are interested in my business and can then send them information to share.

So in my opinion...if you focusing your business online, you should have your own page.

Hope this helps!

Louann, that helps so much! Thank you. (I can't get your link to work??? it may just be my old dinasaur computer, but I'll keep trying because I want to check yours out.)

Now I have a follow-up question for anyone. Who did your wonderful websites (there is no way I can do one on my own, but I don't want to break the bank with this either.)

Then how do you promote your site? I have two small children and a husband who works nights, so right now as much as I want to do home parties that can't happen until summer. In the mean time I want to make a strong online presence. I know some uplines provide this for their team, but if yours doesn't and you did one or had one done on your own, how did you go about that?

Debra F. has a great site and it is very easy to do. I got mine from the same place she got hers. I had mine up and running in no time. In fact, I still have it but I now focus it on the jewelry I make and sell. You will not be disappointed.

Ask Debra, or just click on her signature link and it will take you there. You will love it!

Let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck!

:)

Thanks Diane :-)
There are a lof of great site builders out there. I do like mine because it is template based and as miabellanaturals was the first site I ever built and I knew nothing, it was perfect for me. VERY easy.

And Melissa,I also believe a personal site is the best and you just have to really market it online in many different ways plus use the right keywords and metatags to get it ranking . I'm fortunate that mine now ranks on pages 1and 2 of google and yahoo very often.

Ask your sponser for help maybe?

Thanks, again, ladies!

Debra, I do like your site, and I think I will pursue something very soon.

My sponsor does not market online at all. She has been very successful at just lifestyling the product and has the time to really work that end. I, on the other hand, need to do what I can from home for the most part.

First....could someone please tell me that my links are working? I click on them and it works, but I want to make sure others can too.

As for getting started online...my first suggestion is to buy a domain name at Browser Update Page (http://www.godaddy.com). It's like $10 a year...very worth the money.

Then take a look at the hosting plans/templates they offer and start with that. It's a learning process...I didn't learn how to do what I did overnight...but I did start with something simple and then each month I added something new.

Let me give you an example...

If you were a new hairdresser, you may start by renting a booth. You'd get a client base going, get comfortable with different people etc. Then once you were comfortable with that, you may decide to open your own salon. Then later, you may add a nail tech...then a tanning booth...then a massage center etc...

It would be VERY overwhelming and costly to jump in and do it all at once. But by taking steps...it doesn't seem hard at all.

Is one way better than another? Nope...it all depends on you. How much do you want to take on right away? How much time are you willing to invest? How much money do you have to invest? What are you comforatable with?

You can do it. Just start...take baby steps and keep adding and tweaking.

Louann, I just tried your link again, and it worked....I am sure it was just my computer yesterday--sorry to cause you any worry or stress.

And thank you so much for the information, Louann--very helpful!

Having a personal website is great for online marketing but it is also great for local marketing too. People like to check things out and they can get to "know you" through that site, much more than the company site, which is fantastic, but only sells the company and products. Not YOU, specifically,

There are MANY great template builders out there now that make it so simple. If you can create a Word document, you can do a website!

And, it will grow and change as you go along!

Good luck!

Expect Success!
