Has anyone applied to deedcollector recently? I see so many ads for positions around the country from different job sites. I wonder if these positions are open right now or they are collecting applications. I applied a couple of months ago and again a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard anything. Is there someone from the company that posts here?

I have applied as well but have heard nothing back from them and it's been awhile! So I just moved on. Good luck to you!

Thanks for the reply. I just don't understand why there are so many ads for them and wondering if they are doing any hiring.

I don't know if they are hiring, but if you haven't ever done this sort of job before, I know you will love it if you can get it. I used to work for another company that actually downsized and is no longer collecting in the area that I am in for the records that I was obtaining which is the only reason I am not doing it anymore. Anyway, I was able to write off the mileage for my taxes and it was for .55 per mile! Which really made it worth it to me.
Good luck and let us know if they do get in contact with you:)

It says on their website that if you don't hear from them within 30 days it means they rejected your application.

I applied about six months ago and never heard anything, either! That's ok, though. I've come to realize that there is no actual money in courthouse research

No there can be decent money. It depends on who you work for and what area(s) you cover. I worked for a company in the NY metro area and I made good money. Maybe alot of people are applying and they can't keep up with the applications?

That's not true. I do court research for one of the judge shows on TV and I make more money working part time than some people do working full time. I work for W*st during my 2 month lay off and I make more doing court research part time then working W*st full time. So that's just not true.

I live in a small area but willing to travel some to other small counties. Could I make 250.00 a week? I need something steady and with those hours. I am experienced in customer service but having a hard time finding those jobs with the 8-5 hrs.

From what I understand you can apply but it depends if they have any jobs for the areas that you have selected.

I worked for them last Spring. They are a legitimate company, pay on time, and are very nice to work with. The lost their contract in my area, but I would work for them again in a heart beat.
If you want to see if they are hiring in your area follow these steps:
1. Go to Google and search: "deedcollector.com"
2. Click on "Advanced Search" just to right of the search bar
3. In the Advanced Search box in the lower left corner in blue, click on Date, usage...
4. In the DATE field choose "past week"
Then click on the Advanced Search bar.
This will bring back results for all activity from deedcollector.com in the past week. It' a rather short list today.
I believe since they are so great to work with they don't have the turnover that other companies have and they only hire in areas where they actually have work, which means if they take you on you will have work and not just be entered into their database of workers. Good Luck!

dsearches, so what you are saying is that the only areas they probably have available are the ones from the google site? I am seeing postings on job sites for collectors all over the country. So these are probably not legitimate openings?

What I've tried to explain is a way to search on Google that will show you what jobs MAY have been posted by them in the last week or past 24 hours. As many of you know, the problem with some job sites is that they find the ads posted on other sites, copy them and post them on their own site...which means the job posting could be outdated. By conducting the Google search you can save yourself a little time and at least find the most current postings.
By the way, you can use the above search method to search for almost anything. Hope this helps.

I worked as a deedcollector for a short time, just a few weeks. You definitely need a laptop to take with you to the courthouse to make it worth your time beacause the information has to be typed into a database. I think you can make about $0.10 per name and address entered plus some additional info. they require. I think it just takes some type to get really efficient and how fast you can enter the information. I could not continue because I had another part time job.
Hope this helps!

I just want to add that payment on certain projects may vary. I earned more than what the above person mentioned.
