Hi - I would like info on candle home based businesses. I am looking for one with low start up, no autoship or monthly fees. I haven't heard of alot so please let me know. Anyone heard of Enchanting Scents Design? Would like info on that too. Your experience in this economy and how it has affected the business would be great too!

Hello!
Have you looked into Scentsy? We sell wickless candle bars, bricks, room sprays, car fresheners and gorgeous warmers! There is no monthly fee other than the $10/mo website which is free for your first 3 months and there is no autoship required. The only requirement as a consultant is that you sell at least $150 in one month out of 3. This is not difficult considering that one qualified party is $150 minimum and with our basket parties it makes it super-easy for you to have multiple parties going at one time!!!
I would love to send you a free e-book via email and also a catalog with scent samples if you would like! PM me with your info if you're interested! Good luck!!!

I haven't heard of Enchanting Scents Design--that's a new one to me. I am a distributor for Mia Bella, and I would love to introduce you to the company.
You can be an associate for Mia Bella (no autoship and no quotas) and still receieve a great discount on all the products. You can sell as an associate, but you would have to pay for your website (I think it's 9.95 a month), if you elect to have a website--not a requirement.
I was an associate for awhile---loved it! but I have recently upgraded to the distributor status. Oh, and you do earn on your downline even as an associate, but you do have a quota if you want to earn on your downline (it is 39.95 a month).
I would be happy to send you some information and scent samples if you would like. Mia Bella has become a huge blessing to me. I love every aspect of the business from the products to the owners--fantastic! The owners really do look out for the distributors and are constantly coming up with ways to put money in our pockets immediately. So, you can earn a very good income just by selling the products--I love that, and I love that there is no pressure or minimums to maintain as an associate and only minimal minimums as a distributor.
Let me know if you would like more info. and best wishes on your search.

Enchanting Scents has been around since 2004 or so, maybe even longer. They were originally owned by a woman whose name I don't remember, and then a candle supply company bought and took over the company. I haven't tried the candles since the new owners took over, but I tried them out when they were fairly new. At that time they weren't what I was looking for in a candle company so I've never gone back to try them. That's all I know so I'm probably not much help. lol
Good luck in your search!

Hi Missy
I would have to agree with Christy & Jessica, I think Scentsy would be the perfect fit. I just joined them in December 09 after being with another candle company (and 2 others previous to that), actually I guess you could say I have tried them all, and NEVER had the success that I am having with Scentsy. I had 6 home parties in my first month and I have 5 booked for Feb., and 2 already for March. Family members who never bought from me previously with the other companies I have been with, are buying Scentsy and LOVING it.
My mom even had a party for me and she has never in my 15 yrs of being in direct sales had a party for me, but she LOVED the Scentsy warmer I got her for Christmas. In the many years of direct sales this is the easiest product I have ever sold, it's just such a simple system.
Good luck in your search and if I can answer any questions you might have about Scentsy let me know.

Partylite is very popular here (in WA state) in terms of their holders, but they merged with a food company in the past year and I am not sure what is going on with the company at this moment.
I know that they do focus on home parties, and although im not super clear on it, I believe they are much stricter about how those parties are structured and what exactly constitutes a "party." I believe that Partylite does not allow a folder here for their company.
Best of luck with your decision process!!
As I mentioned before, please let me know if you would like a Gold Canyon sample to burn.

Hello ,
I pm'd you a brief note on Cierra Ashley...
We are a home fragrance company utilizing a "fan system" to disperse the scent. This system covers 1000sq ft.... an $8 canister lasts 400 hrs!
No heat, no wax, no fire, no stains, no messy changing of scents.
The scent is controllable as to how strong you want it. These are battery or electric operated.
We have seen a HUGE number of people coming to us, leaving other candle/warmer companies. Let me know if you wanna learn more! :)

II saw that you were looking at different candle companies and I wanted to share my personal story and experience with you. When looking around, be sure to ask lots of questions. Find your passion and then find the company that matches it.
Here is my story...
I've been in direct sales since 2000 and love the industry. My first exposure was with a small family gourmet food. I was invited to be a partner in the company and LOVED LOVED LOVED what I was doing. I helped build the business from the ground up, was consistanly doing 6 - 10 shows a month and adding 1-2 team members. In 2007, the owner started taking the business in directions that I didn't feel were good...and decided to leave. Turned out to be a good choice since they closed in 2009.
In 2007 started with another gourmet food company and was really enjoying that too. Again, I was a successful leader and earned several awards for team building and sales. In January 2009 that company merged with a well known home party candle company. To be honest, I was not happy about that at all...I was not a candle girl...I was a food girl...and while I was able to still sell and promote my food line...it was all under the candle company name and was very confusing to my customers.
I spent many hours talking to my good friends and fellow business partners and decided that I needed to give it a try...a door had opened in front of me...I had to at least walk through and see where it lead to. For 9 months, I worked the business...with success...booking 6 - 8 shows per month, adding new team members each month. I even earned a trip to Jamacia with my husband! I discovered that people really do love high quality candles!
Even though I was having sales success, I was not happy. I was stressed out due to high leadership monthly minimums, high sales/booking pressure tatics from my leader and constantly having to buy new products for my display tables.
So I talked to my good online friend Alethea Anderson and we started talking about her candle business. Since I started selling candles earlier this year, I realized there is a huge market for high quality candles and I after asking a million questions, I realized that my current candle business is really an amazing company that offers everything I want.
I am a firm beliver in choices...choices on how to run your business. Since many of us work this right alongside our families, there are months when we can spend lots of time on it, and other months when we choose to focus more on family or other activities. As a mom of 3 young children who is very involved in her community...this was important to me.
You choose how to run your business...home parties, book parties, online networking, retail sales, fairs and festivals, fundraisers, team building...it's your choice and as a leader...it's my job to support you and guide you in whatever choice you make.
Good luck in your search and ask lots of questions.

I have looked at all the responses and from what I can discern, a few do have a monthly fee and some have autoship requirements. For that reason, I am seriously considering Partylite. No start up fees and no monthly fee. I am talking with a rep tommorrow about the whole business, possibly a website fee but not sure about that yet. I appreciate all of the info you have given, didn't know there were so many companies! Best to all of you - may we all shine:)
