Thanx for all the PMs from everyone on here! I'm still looking through everything. I have a broad question on the candle sales though... are the candle companies a resale business or marketing business? In other words, do you have to buy the candles, stock inventory and sell them, or do you try to promote the company and direct people to a website where they purchase and get direct shipping? Or does it depend on the company? I know a few of you mentioned buying inventory but is that an option or mandatory?

Hi again! I pmd you about Scentsy Wickless Candles. With our business you can do either one. Which ever you are comfortable with. There are some consultants that keep a small stock in their homes for fairs and festivals and customers who need something last minute. There are others that have NO stock. That is the beauty of Scentsy, you are not required to keep any inventory, it's a personal choice. I know there are some companies that are strictly auto-ship companies, then you are stuck with candles you may or may not sell.

Persoanlly, I keep some bars and warmers, a few car candles and room sprays around for customers in a last minute pinch... (or for personal use ;)).

Hope that helps!

I actually don't keep alot of inventory on hand to sell. If I have something and someone wants it I will sell it but mostly I just market the business by word of mouth or with parties. That is the one thing I love about this company. You don't have to have a lot of product on hand.

No need for inventory for me, but I do have a small personal stock. It is certainly not required though. Once you establish a customer base, you can set up a contact list and e-mail specials, etc. to all of your customers. For the locals, you can tell them when you are placing an order and submit orders together to help cover shipping costs.

Doing basket parties and home parties, I have enough inventory just for presentation purposes and then have all of my scent samples.

With our company, people can order from your website and have direct shipped to them also and you still receive your 40% commission from those sales as well.

Hey, again,

With Mia Bella you do not have to buy inventory. As the business grows you may choose to have inventory on hand to put money into your pocket quickly as you go about your daily routines, but inventory is never a requirement.

You do not have a quota under the associate program, and you can choose whether or not to have a website under that program. You can direct people to your site, you can have parties, or you can even elect to do fundraisers. You can also place your candles in service salons and market/sale them that way. Very flexible!

Under the Candle of the Month program you get a chosen(a few options for you to choose from) package in the current scent of the month sent to your door and your webisite is provided as well (39.95 plus tax). These items can be used by you, used as gifts, or sold. Also, if you have a downline you do have a quota to earn from your downline, and the COTM program meets that quota.

Hope you are having fun going through everything. Keep the questions coming.

I have people buy right from me or from our website. We are not a party plan....so we buy our products wholesale and then are able to sell for an instant profit....pretty sweet.
We earn 50% profit or more on most products. If you want to speak with me contact me at FlickerScents@comcast.net.....I feel that PM can not offer enough information.
If you would like a full size product to try please email me. Or visit the site in my siggy line and fill out your name and address.
Hope to hear from you.

With For Every Home we do not need inventory. It is actually written into our consultant agreement not to front load. I do have a small stock for birthday's, baby showers, some of the cubes and room sprays. Of course some for me.

I like with For Every Home the company can ship directly to your customer anywhere in the US, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. This really helps.

Greetings,

You'll find that Direct Sales, Network Marketing and MLM companies do not 'require' an inventory, this is called 'front loading' and is an industry no-no.

The only time one would need to have an inventory would be if they were working directly with a specific wholesale "company" where one has to have a wholesale license and buy is mass bulk quantity. In those situations one usually is selling from an inventory stocked on a shelf somewhere. (this does not apply to direct sales, network marketing or mlm)

Now many do choose to carry an inventory in home based businesses, but it is a 'choice' and not required (any company where you are pressured to carry an inventory is most certainly not following industry guidelines)

With Mia Bella we offer wholesale pricing in a home business structure; some choose to sell via many methods limited only by their imaginations.

Keep researching, due diligence is key!

A Mia Bella Candle Business is a fun way to light the day!

Gold Canyon does not require you to carry inventory. If you want to carry inventory, that is your choice.
